Sorry I skipped a week of blogging. I got sick and needed the time to heal. With that said in the beginning of the year (January 2022), I bought a few Essie products.
Here are the products I got. I already reviewed Essie Strong Start Base Coat (left). For this post, I will review the nail polish on the right.
This is Essie in Skip the Track. Since I did a thorough review of Essie Expressie in Desk Mani, I will base this on that.
Here's a closer look at the color. The website describes it as a "sheer lavender gray quick dry nail polish with cool undertones." I have to agree completely!
Here's a closer look at the brush. Compared to OPI, the width is wider and the length is shorter.
I applied Essie Strong Start Base Coat, two coats of Essie in Skip the Track, and topped all the nails with Orly In A Snap Quick-Dry Topcoat.

Now for my overall opinion... First of all, the brush is wide enough to do three strokes and move onto the next nail. Not only that, the curve tip makes it easy to paint around the cuticles and sides. This is my favorite type of brush. There is a slant in this specific line. I don't know why but it doesn't affect painting the nails. Secondly, I like the packaging. It's simple and clean looking. With that said, it's well-made and sturdy. It's made out of glass. The top is also sturdy. I can feel a tight seal when I open and close the top. I cannot see it open or break unless you are rough with the packaging. For this reason, it's travel-friendly. It's easy to throw in your purse, bag, and even your pocket. It's also easy to hold with one hand. Third, the consistency is liquidity but it has a slight creaminess and on the thin side. It's not too hard that it's hard to work with. It's not too thin that it runs. It's an alright consistency but it's on the thin side. It's the opposite of most of the nail polishes in this line. You can take your time with painting. It will not get clumpy with usage. With that said, it's easy to use. It goes on smoothly, and there are no streaking and bubbles. Fourth, it's a pretty lavender grayish color. It will be great for fall and winter season. Do I think this color is unique? Yes, I have not seen this specific color anywhere. Pigmentation-wise it's on the thin side. I did two coats but I could have done more to even out the colors. Lastly for a nail polish that is sheer, I am pretty impressed. I did see slight shrinkage but it's not that noticeable with the naked eyes. I had to look at it carefully to notice. I think it shrunk around the fourth or fifth day of wearing. I did not see chipping whatsoever. I am glad I got this polish. I really liked it even though it is on the sheer side.

Would repurchase: Yes.
Rating:  4.5/5 Tobey's Paws
