I visited a nail beauty store in Chinatown last Friday, December 10, 2021 and purchased some essie polishes.
I ended up purchasing four Essie gel couture. For this post, I will review the second from the left.
This is Essie in High-End Note. I am not too sure why it's not listed on their website since it's from a recent collection. Since I did a thorough review of Essie Gel Couture in Turn 'N' Pose, I will base this on that.
Here's a closer look at the color. It is darker on the nails than from the bottle.
Here's a closer look at the brush. Compared to OPI, the width is wider. I would say it's on the thick side. The length on the other hand is the same.
I applied OPI Nail Envy in OriginalMadam Glam Gelementary Gel-Like Base Coat, two coats of essie in High-End Note, and topped all the nails with Orly In A Snap Quick-Dry Topcoat.

Now for my overall opinion... First of all, the brush is wide enough to do three strokes and move onto the next nail. Not only that, it comes with a curve tip. It makes it easy to paint around the cuticles and sides. Secondly, the packaging is attractive. It's very modernized and stands out. I love the curve dents around the bottle. It makes it easy to grab with your fingers in the dents. With that said, it's well-made and sturdy. It's made out of thick glass. The top is also sturdy. You can feel a tight seal when you open and close. I cannot see it open or break unless you are rough with the packaging. For this reason, it's travel-friendly. It's easy to throw in your purse, bag, and even your pocket. It's also easy to hold with one hand. Third, the consistency is creamy and on the medium. It's not too thick that it's hard to work with. It's also not too thin that it runs while painting. It's a good consistency and you can take your time with painting. It will not get hard with usage. With that said, it's easy to use. It goes on smoothly, and there are no streaking and bubbles. Fourth, it's a gorgeous purplish-gray. I think it's unique in color. I have never seen a gray with bluish to purple color in a nail polish. It depends on the angle of how you look at the polish on your nails. It's great for fall and winter season. Pigmentation-wise it's up there. Two coats were good enough for my skin color. Lastly, I saw chipping on the tips on the fourth day. It's not a small type of chip. It's on the big side. Shrinkage I did not see any whatsoever. I am not totally excited about the huge chips but the color makes up for it. It's so pretty and I definitely think it's unique!

Would repurchase: Yes.
