I apologize I have not been good with blogging as I hoped. An emergency happened this week but things are getting back to normal I hope. Anyways beginning of this month, May 2022, I bought one Essie polish from CVS.
This is Essie in Sh00k. Since I did a thorough review of Essie Expressie in Desk Mani, I will base this on that.
Here's a closer look at the color. The website describes it as a "bright yellow quick dry nail polish with green undertones." I can see the bright yellow but I do not see green undertones.
Here's a closer look at the brush. Compared to OPI, the width is wider and the length is shorter.
I applied Essie Strong Start Base Coat, two coats of Essie in Sh00k, and topped all the nails with Orly In A Snap Quick-Dry Topcoat.

Now for my overall opinion... First of all, the brush is wide enough to do three strokes and move onto the next nail. Even though the brush is wide enough, it would had been better if the brush was thinner because of the thicker consistency. I usually love curve tips but I found it hard to paint around the cuticles and sides. If you are a more experienced painter, it should be easy for you. I am just not a good painter. Secondly, the packaging is nice and professionally looking. With that said, it's well-made and sturdy. It's made out of thick glass. The top is also sturdy. I can feel a tight seal when I open and close. I cannot see it open or break unless you are rough with the packaging. For this reason, it's travel-friendly. It's easy to throw in your purse, bag, and even your pocket. It's also easy to hold with one hand. Third, the consistency is creamy and in-between medium to thick. It's not too thick that it's extremely hard to work with, but I found it hard for me. Most people shouldn't have a problem. It's also not too thin that it runs while painting. It's an alright consistency just not my type that I would reach for. You can take your time with painting. It will not get clumpy with usage. Since it's on the thicker side for my taste, I tend to paint faster and I don't know why. With that said, it's easy to use. It goes on smoothly and there are no bubbles. I did find streaking. It just didn't leave a smooth coat and you can see through to the nails. Fourth, it's a pretty bright yellow color. It's a great spring and summer color. Would I say the color is unique? Yes and no. I am sure you can find it in other brands but it's not a typical color that is made often. I don't see a lot of people wearing yellow on their nails. Pigmentation-wise it's okay. I did two coats but you can see slight streaking. It just didn't give a smooth coat and I was too lazy to do more. Lastly, I did not see shrinkage whatsoever. I'm on my sixth day and I barely see chipping on the tips. This is the reason why this particular product from Essie is my favorite. It lasts a long time and doesn't shrink!

Would repurchase: No.
