Manicure Monday: Essie in In The Modern

Recently, November 2021, I bought one Essie polish from CVS.
This is Essie in In The Modern. Since I did a thorough review of Essie Expressie in Desk Mani, I will base this on that.
Here's a closer look at the color. The website describes it as "creamy light gray with blue undertones." I agree with the description. I see gray with mint.
Here's a closer look at the brush. Compared to OPI, the width is wider and the length is shorter.
I applied OPI Nail Envy in OriginalMadam Glam Gelementary Gel-Like Base Coat, two coats of Essie in In The Modern, and topped all the nails with Orly In A Snap Quick-Dry Topcoat.

Now for my overall opinion... First of all, the brush is wide enough to do three strokes and move onto the next nail. Not only that, I like the curve tip. It makes it easy to paint around the cuticles and sides. I am starting to think all brushes from this line, Expressie, have slanted brushes. It's my third and all three are slanted. Secondly, I like the packaging. I have never disliked any nail polish packaging. With that said, it's well-made and sturdy. It's made out of thick glass. The top is also sturdy. You can feel a tight seal when you open and close. I cannot see it open or break unless you are rough with the packaging. For this reason, it's travel-friendly. It's easy to throw in your purse, bag, and even your pocket. It's also easy to hold with one hand. Third, the consistency is creamy and medium. It's not too thick that it's hard to work with. It's also not too thin that it runs while painting. It's a good consistency. You can take your time with painting. It will not get clumpy with usage. With that said, it's easy to use. It goes on smoothly, and there are no streaking and bubbles. Fourth, the color is pretty. I see light gray but at times, I can see mint. I see slight green at certain angles. It's definitely unique and perfect for the fall season. Pigmentation-wise it's up there. Two coats were good enough for my skin. Lastly, I saw chipping on the sides on the tips on the fifth day. They are not small chips. They are big but it happened on the fifth day. I think that's pretty decent. I saw no shrinkage whatsoever. I am glad I got this. The color is slightly unique and long-lasting.

Would repurchase: Yes.
