Last month, November 2021, I made a purchase from ULTA.
Here's my haul. For this post, I will review one of the KVD in the middle.
The deluxe sample kit contains three products. I already reviewed KVD Tattoo Liner in Trooper (top). For this post, I will review the lip product in the bottom.

Thoughts: When this first came out, I wanted to try it. After reading the reviews on one of the sites. I don't think it was the KVD. I changed my mind. The reviews weren't bad but they mentioned it wasn't pigmented. When I saw the deluxe sample kit, I decided to give it a chance.
Here's a closer look at the color. The website describes it as "Iconic chestnut rose." I don't know if I completely agree. It looks darker on me than what I imagine a chestnut rose to be.
Here's a closer look of a swatch on my hand.
Here's how it looks on me.
Here's an overall look with Romand Better Than Palette The Secret Garden in Mahogany Garden on the eyes.

Now for my overall opinion... First of all, there's a slight scent while applying. It smells like vanilla. To be honest, I did not notice a scent the first time I applied it. I just sniffed the product and it smells like how it's applied. It's not my type of scent but it's doable. Secondly, I do not own the full-size. The one I have is a deluxe sample. With that said, the packaging looks exactly like the full-size except in a mini form. I will only speak about the deluxe sample. I like the packaging. I think I was drawn more to the packaging than the lip product itself. It looks clean and high-tech. It's so sad after all these years and knowing about the beauty industry, I am still drawn to the packaging. With that said, it's well-made and sturdy. It's made out of thick plastic. The top is also sturdy. You can feel a tight seal when you open and close the top, as well as, it makes a clicking noise. I cannot see it open or break unless you are rough with the packaging. For this reason, it's travel-friendly, It's easy to throw in your purse, bag, and even your pocket. It's also easy to hold with one hand. Third, the consistency is creamy and on the medium. It's very buttery soft. It feels like you are applying lip balm more so than a lipstick. It does not tug on the lips. With that said, it's easy to use. I use the tip to outline the lips and the flat surface to fill in the remaining. It goes on smoothly and it's not sticky. I do recommend exfoliating before using the product. It will show your imperfections. It did for me. My dry lips were noticeable. Since it's a hydrating product, I noticed my lips got softer and smoother throughout the day. It also leaves a shiny texture. If you are looking for a matte lipstick, this isn't the product. Fourth, the color is dark reddish brown. It looks lighter and softer in the picture. I think it's from the flash of the camera. It's a good fall and winter color. Pigmentation-wise it is alright. The website says high-pigmented and one-swipe lipstick. I think it took couple layers for the pigment to show. Lastly, it lasted until I ate. I have a tendency to wipe my mouth while eating. For this reason, lip products do not last long on me. It's not drying and did not leave a white residue in the center of the lips. I think this product is more a lip balm than a lipstick in my opinion.

Pros:
* Slight scent while applying.
* Well-made and sturdy packaging.
* Sturdy top; can feel a tight seal and makes a clicking noise when you open and close.
