End of February 2017, I was fortunate to attend The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey Event. At the end of the event, The Body Shop gave us a goody bag full of their newest products.
Here are the products I received. For this post, I will review the body butter on the bottom right.
This is The Body Shop Body Butter in Almond Milk & Honey. Since I did a thorough review of The Body Shop Body Butter in Cranberry, I will base this on that.
Here's a closer look at the body butter.
Here's a swatch on my hand.
Now for my overall opinion... First of all, there's a slight scent while applying. The scent isn't as strong as other body butters from this brand but it's as strong as other brands. When it comes to body moisturizers, I actually like strong scent. I rather smell from body moisturizers than perfumes. That's just personal preference. I just sniffed the product and the scent is stronger than applied. It smells like honey to me. I don't smell almond. I relate almond to be on the muskier side. This isn't musky at all. It's slightly sweet in the floral scent. I'm a fruity type of person but I actually like this scent. Secondly, the packaging fits with other body butters from this brand. It's in a round tube and you dip your fingers into the product. It's not the most sanitary-safe product but you just make sure your hands are clean before using the product. It's made out of plastic, but it's sturdy and well-made. I don't see any scratches and finger marks. It also has a sturdy top with a tight closure. I cannot see it open or break unless you are rough with the packaging. For that reason, it's travel-friendly. Third, the consistency is on the creamier side. It reminds me of a lot of body creams/lotions. It's in-between medium to thick. It's a good consistency for normal to dry skin individuals. It might be too heavy for oily skin individuals. For myself, it's good since I have dry skin. With that said, it's slightly different than most body butters from The Body Shop. The body butters are thick and you need to melt the product with your fingers. You don't have to with this product. You can just dig in and grab the quantity you need. Then you massage it into your skin and that's where the magic happens. It melts like butter. Fourth, the website describes it as a "heavenly, rich body butter has been specially formulated to calm, care and protect dry, sensitive skin. With 48 hours of intense moisture, help calm tight, itchy dry skin. Enriched with almond milk from Spain and Community Trade honey from Ethiopia, Almond Milk & Honey is specially formulated for sensitive, dry skin." I really cannot say anything about sensitive skin since I don't really have one. Dr. Christine Choi Kim, the dermatology for The Body Shop, loves this line and highly recommends to sensitive skin. From hearing what she said during our small group conversation, she convinced me it's great for sensitive skin. When it comes to dry skin and lastly, I can talk. I have extremely dry skin to the point that I moisturize my hands after each bathroom usage or else I can feel the tightness. I've also had people tell me why my skin is dry. It's mostly from family members. Now you have an idea how dry my skin is. I don't moisturize my body intensely as they recommend. I just moisturize after each shower. With each usage, I noticed an improve dryness. I don't feel the tightness and my skin feels softer. I've always been a huge fan of the body butter from The Body Shop and this doesn't disappoint!
Would repurchase: Yes.
