In May 2014, I went to Generation Beauty LA.
I took this picture from my Instagram. I already reviewed Benefit They're Real! Mascara (middle), bareMinerals Lipstick in Make Your Move (bottom right), China Glaze in Neon & On & On (top middle), Josie Maran Model Citizen Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter (bottom left), Laneige BB Cushion (left), L.A. Girl ColorPop in Lovely (top middle), and bareMinerals BareSkin Foundation in Bare Ivory (bottom right). For this post, I will review the other China Glaze polish on the left I received.
This is China Glaze in Highlight Of My Summer. Since I did a thorough review of China Glaze in Neon & On & On, I will base this on that.
Here's a closer look at the color and I have to say it's slightly brighter in person.
Here's a closer look at the brush. Compared to my favorite OPI brush, the width is on the thinner but the length is the same. I have to say the width is on the thin side.
I applied OPI Nail Envy in Original, Seche Crystal Clear Base Coat, 2 coats of China Glaze in Highlight Of My Summer, and then topped it off with CND Vinylux Weekly Top Coat.
Now for my overall opinion... First of all, the brush is on the thin side. I found it hard to paint around the cuticles and the sides. I'm usually pretty good painting the sides but with the combination of the brush and the consistency, I didn't do too well. With that said and secondly, the consistency is in-between medium to thick. I wouldn't say it's completely thick but it's definitely not a great consistency. I felt like I was applying white-out on my nails or it reminded me of it. It was kind of blotchy. With that said, it went on with no streaking and bubbles. Third, the color is gorgeous! It's a pretty mint color on the green side. With that said, I don't think it's original. It reminds me of a lot of other polishes. Lastly and this is why I'm not a big fan of China Glaze polishes. Other than having thin brush, it doesn't last that long on me. This polish didn't even last a day before I noticed chipping. I painted at night and the next afternoon, there already was a slight chip at the tips on several nails. On the third day, the chips got bigger and half the polish were gone on my nails. On the positive side, it didn't shrink at all.
Would repurchase: No.
