End of last month, May 2014, I went to Generation Beauty. I got a lot of goodies.
I took this picture from my Instagram. I already reviewed Benefit They're Real! Mascara (middle), and bareMinerals Lipstick in Make Your Move (bottom right). I received two China Glaze nail polishes (top middle). For this post, I will focus the polish on the right.
Product Review: China Glaze in Neon & On & On
Where to purchase: ULTA, Sally's Beauty, and online at chinaglaze.com
Price: $6-8 for 14 mL/ 0.5 fl oz
Made in USA
Thoughts: When I received this in the goody bag, I was excited. I've been wanting a pink coral nail polish. I didn't have to look that far.
Here's a closer look at the polish and it's very true to color from the bottle. When you paint your nails, it's a little bit brighter.
Here's a closer look at the brush. Compared to OPI which I consider as the perfect medium width brush, China Glaze is thin.
I applied Orly Calcium Shield Basecoat, 2 coats of China Glaze in Neon & On & On, and then topped it off with Butter London Hardwear P.D. Quick Topcoat.
Now for my overall opinion... First of all, the consistency of the product is on the thick side. It's not completely thick but it's around there. I find it easy to apply and it goes on smoothly. You do have to latter it up or else the coats will be thin and not even. Other than that, there was no bubbles and streaking. I found it easy to apply. I just wish the brush was wider. I tend to find thin brushes hard to paint around the cuticles and this was definitely one of them. Either I need more practice or a lot of other people are like me. Secondly, the color on the nails is brighter than the color from the bottle. I still found both really pretty, and this is coming from someone who doesn't like wearing pink polishes. Lastly, the longevity isn't that long. The polish lasted 3 days until it started chipping. It's not one of those small chips but big chunks.
Pros:
* Bright color.
* Don't need a white base.
* Goes on smoothly.
* No streaking and bubbles.
Cons:
* Thin brush.
* Consistency is slightly thick.
* Color is brighter than the bottle.
* Only lasts 3 days before chipping.
Would repurchase: No.
