End of May 2014, I went to Generation Beauty and received a lot of goodies.

I took this picture from my Instagram. I already reviewed Benefit They're Real! Mascara (middle), bareMinerals Lipstick in Make Your Move (bottom right), and China Glaze in Neon & On & On (top middle). For this post, I will focus on a body butter I received from Josie Maran (bottom left).

What's the Model Citizen campaign? Our Model Citizen campaign salutes the generous spirits of trailblazers like Mary Alice Onyura. She's a beacon of possibility shining bright in the slums of Africa. She's the kind of woman I want my daughters to grow up to be. Working with the game-changing IMAGINE Initiative, which brings a new worldview and the skills needed for transformative change to our world, Mary Alice is helping women in the Nairobi slums to empower and uplift themselves and their communities. Mary Alice is breathtaking and inspiring to me, which is why I'm donating 10% of the proceeds of this year's Model Citizen products to support her and other change-makers who have dedicated their lives to empowering women around the world.

Thoughts: When I first saw this in my goody bags, I knew I would get good use out of this product. I don't know if you're like me but when it comes to body and skincare products, I go through them quickly. Makeup is a different story.
Here's how the body butter looks.
Here's a swatch of the body butter on my hand.

Now for my overall opinion... First of all, there's a strong scent. It's described as African red rooibos. I'm not too sure what rooibos is but I did Google search it. It's a herb that can smell sweet or nutty. Honestly in my opinion, I cannot describe the scent. I have never smelled anything like this but it actually smells pretty decent. Secondly, the consistency of the product isn't as thick as some body butters but it is on the thick side. If you have oily skin, it might be thick for you. If you're normal to dry skin, the consistency is good. I actually like the consistency and it's great for my dry skin. It's extremely moisturizing and my skin feels softer. I also like how it keeps me moisturize until the next time I wash my body. It's a very long lasting body butter!

Pros:
* Strong, sturdy packaging.
* Travel friendly.
* Smells nice.
* Thick consistency.
* Hydrating.
* Long lasting.
* Has antioxidants and vitamins.

Cons:
* Limited edition.

Would repurchase: Yes.
Rating:  4.5/5 Tobey's Paws

I just ordered a bottle of the Josie Maran Argan Oil for my hair. I've never tried any of her products before. That looks so good! Will look for it the next time I'm at the beauty store. Looks creamy!
