I am fortunate to receive some products from derma e.

I took this picture from my Instagram. I already reviewed derma e Purifying Daily Detox Scrub (left). For this post, I will review the mask on the right.
Product Review: derma e Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask

Where to purchase: Target, ULTA, CVS, Whole Foods, Sprouts, and online at dermae.com
Price: $19.50 for 1.7 oz/48 g

Made in USA

Description from the package: It's purely magnetic. This dual-action, deep detox mask purges pores of toxins then gently exfoliates for fresh, glowing skin.

As the mask dries, Activated Charcoal works as a magnet to lift dirt, oil and environmental toxins. Apricot Seed Powder exfoliates away micropollutants and dead skin cells to reveal a dramatically smoother, healthier appearance.
Ingredients:
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Kaolin, Bentonite, Glycerin, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Seed Powder, Fucus Vesiculosus (Bladderwrack) Extract, Undaria Pinnatifida (Wakame, Kimarine®) Extract, Charcoal Powder, Epilobium Angustifolium (Canadian Willowherb™) Extract, Panthenol (Provitamin B5), Organic Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract* (.1%), Menthyl Lactate, Potassium Sorbate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.
Thoughts: I haven't used other masks other than sheets in a long time. For that reason, I was intrigued to use this product. What attracted me to this particular product is the activated charcoal. If it will help decrease the size of my large pores on my nose and cheeks.
Here's a closer look at the opening.
Here's a swatch of the product on my hand.
Here's how the mask looks on me. You can see the wet and dry spots.

Now for my overall opinion... First of all, there's a slight scent while applying but I couldn't distinguish the smell. I just sniffed the product and it has a slight floral scent. Secondly, the packaging is nice. I like their new design. It's simple and very clean. I also like the light green. The color is pretty, attractive, and very hip. With that said, it comes in a tube. I like it's sanitary-safe and I don't have to dig into the pot. It's sturdy and well-made. The top is also sturdy. I cannot see it open or break unless you are rough with the packaging. For that reason, it's travel-friendly. There are certain products no matter how much I like the packaging shouldn't be in that particular packaging. The consistency of this product is slightly thick with liquidity parts. Since it's on the thick side, it's hard to squeeze the product out of the tube. When I squeeze, the liquid parts come out smoothly but the chunks of thickness is another story. Squeezing the chunks is a mess. You hear a splatter coming out of the tube and it goes all around you. I have white counters in my bathroom and everything that isn't white is noticeable. I could see gray splats all over the counter and it wasn't pretty. In my opinion, this mask should come in a pot rather than a tube but that's just me. Third, the consistency is slightly thick with liquidity parts. I would say it's in-between medium to thick. With that said, it's easy to apply. I used my fingers and apply the mask all over my face avoiding the eyes and mouth. When I first swatch the product on my hand, I didn't even notice it has slight exfoliating particles within the mask. The first time I applied the mask, I noticed tiny exfoliating particles. You really can feel the particles between your fingers. Once it's applied, it dries quickly. I would say around 5 minutes. While the mask is at work, there's tingling sensation to a part of slight burning. To be honest, I was kind of scared. I thought it was slightly burning my skin and it'll turn red, but it didn't thankfully. I'm guessing it's the activated charcoal at work. The description says "works as a magnet to lift dirt, oil and environmental toxins." I have never felt this sensation but with each usage, you get used to it. The fear was only there the first time I used this mask. Then you moisten your fingers and massage the dry mask on your face to prepare for removal. The massaging part was comfortable and relaxing. I just used my sink by splashing water to remove the mask like I do with cleansers. This is where it was a complete mess. I thought squeezing the product out of the tube was bad. This was worst! Liquidity gray drops were all over the sink and counter. Then I had to clean the sink and counter with cleansing wipes. It was more work than I needed! Now I remember why I hardly use masks in a tube. It's just easier to use sheet masks but that's my own personal preference. Basically, I'm just lazy and want the most easiest way. Lastly and after removing the mask, my skin glowed and there was no redness. It look clean, alert, youthful, and I didn't notice any fine and thick lines. I liked how my skin looked but it definitely isn't something I would use often. This will be great for people with acne and oily skin. Since I have dry skin, I would only use around my t-zone especially my nose and cheeks where I have the huge pores. I would also use one or twice a month instead of twice a week as recommended.

Purifying Daily Detox Scrub

January 2016, I went to Generation Beauty LA and got a bunch of goodies either through the brands or in my goody bags.
I received two full-size derma e products. derma e Purifying Daily Detox Scrub was in one of the goody bags, and the brand gave people derma e Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask. Since I reviewed both products with the new packaging that I received from the brand, I thought I would give these out. It's the older packaging but they're still good. They don't expire until 2018 and 2019.
Here's a closer look at the scrub.
