I was fortunate to receive some products from derma e.
I took this picture from my Instagram. I already reviewed derma e Hydrating Night Creme. Before I review derma e Hydrating Day Creme, I want to tell you something exciting. derma e came out with a new packaging!
"NEW PACKAGING DESIGN!
We will launch our new packaging design starting September 2016. It will roll out through March 2017 to be in all of our retail stores (including Whole Foods, Sprouts, Ulta Beauty and others) with 100% of our product in the new design. The first to be in the new pack will be our Hydrating, Anti Wrinkle and Firming collections along with our best-selling Microdermabrasion Scrub + Overnight Peel.
SAME GREAT FORMULATION
Our eco-ethical, non compromising formulas will not change in the repack. The same great formula, with a fresh new look!
A FRESH OVERALL NEW LOOK
To appeal 100% to our consumer, we are updating our look and feel in our brand too (notice on social sites, our website, in stores, and more). Based on our heritage, mission and values that have not changed, our new brand look and feel is 100% DERMA E!"
I got this from the press kit. They said it better than I ever could!
Here is a comparison of the old packaging and the new. The one on the left, derma e Hydrating Day Creme, is the old and the one on the right, derma e Hydrating Night Cream, is new. I also found something interesting that I never noticed until now. They changed the writing from Creme (old packaging) to Cream (new packaging).
Here's how the cream looks next to each other. The one on the left is derma e Hydrating Day Creme and the right is derma e Hydrating Night Cream. The formulas did not change. The new packaging is more classier and professional looking in my opinion.

Thoughts: I had such good experience with derma e Firming DMAE Eye Lift and derma e Hydrating Night Creme, that I went in with high standards. Usually, it's not a good thing. It's best to go in with blank slate.
Here's a closer look at the cream.
Here's a swatch of the cream on my hand.
Now for my overall opinion... First of all, there's a scent. I cannot distinguish the smell but it's on the sweet side. It can either be a fruit or a sweet flower. I, personally, like the smell and it doesn't bother me. If you are sensitive, this might not be for you. With time, the smell lessens and you hardly notice it anymore. Secondly, I have mentioned this several times but this is the old packaging. The new packaging is pretty similar except for the outside. I honestly think the new packaging looks more cleaner and professional like. It looks like a product from the higher end. It's very sturdy and has a tight seal making it very travel-friendly. With that said, you do have to dig your fingers into the product. It's not the most sanitary-safe but I don't mind. I just wash my hands before I use the product. Third, the consistency is in-between medium to thick. They recommend it for people with dry to normal skin. I agree. It might be heavy for oily individuals. I also think it's great for individuals preventing aging. Compared to derma e Hydrating Night Creme, this is much thinner and lighter. One thing I found interesting is that when I shake the bottle of both day and night cream, the day cream will eventually even out. The night cream, on the other hand, will not budge. That tells me how thick the night cream is compared to day cream. It's a good thing because you want the cream to hydrate overnight while your cells are working. For daytime, you want a lighter cream especially if you apply sunscreen. You don't want the sunscreen to just lay on top of the moisturizer and not work internally protecting from the sun. With that said, it's easy to apply and spreads quickly. It leaves a nice, soft texture. Since I have dry skin, my skin absorbs this product like no other. Lastly, my skin improved from hydration. The dry patches disappeared, as well as, the redness from the dry skin. It made my face looked more plump, youthful, and less noticeable fine lines.
Pros:
* Sweet scent.
* Sturdy and tight seal.
* Travel-friendly.
* In-between medium to thick consistency.
* Great for dry to normal skin types.
* Great for people preventing aging.
* Easy to apply and spreads quickly.
* Leaves a nice, smooth, soft texture.
* Dry patches disappeared, as well as, redness.
* Skin looked more plump, youthful.
* Noticeable less fine lines.
* Paraben-free.

* Cruelty-free.
Cons:
* Not sanitary-safe.
Would repurchase: Yes.
