Please don't forget to enter Nails Set Giveaway. It ends January 3, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. PST (Pacific time).
Beginning of December 2016, I purchased Too Faced lip kit at Sephora.
Now that Christmas is over, I doubt it's in shock. Even though the set isn't sold anymore, you can purchase the product in full-size.
In the set, there are three types of lip products. There is Too Faced Melted Chocolate Liquified Lipstick, Too Faced Melted Liquified Lipstick, and Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Matte Lipstick. I will separate them. For this post, I will review the Too Faced Melted Chocolate.
This is Too Faced Melted Chocolate Liquified Lipstick in Chocolate Honey. Since I did a thorough review of Too Faced Melted Chocolate Liquified Lipstick in Chocolate Milkshake, I will base this on that.
Chocolate Honey Ingredients: Ricinus Communis Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Dicalcium Phosphate, Stearalkonium Bentonite, Fragrance/Parfum, Silica Silylate, Benzyl Benzoate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Propylene Carbonate, Benzyl Alcohol, Colophonium, Methicone, Mica, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-di-t-butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Silica, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Theobroma Cacao Fruit Powder, Tin Oxide, Tocopheryl Acetate, Barium Sulfate (CI 77120). Here's a look at the ingredients. I got it off the website.
Here's a closer look at the velvet tip. It looks just like the full-size.
You squeeze the tube and the product comes out on the velvet tip.
Here's a swatch of the Too Faced Melted Chocolate Liquified Lipstick. The one on the left is Chocolate Milkshake and the right is Chocolate Honey.
Here's how Chocolate Honey looks on me.
Here's an overall look with The Body Shop eyeshadow palette on my eyes.
Now for my overall opinion... First of all, there's a strong scent when you apply the product. It does smell like chocolate. The smell does weaken with time, but it's a little too much initially for me. Secondly, I like the packaging. It's a simple product. It reminds me of childhood when you squeeze the lip balm as a child. The only difference is that this comes with a velvet tip. With that said, it's not the most sanitary safe product. I'm sure you can clean the tip with makeup wipe, but I don't know if anyone would. I know I wouldn't. It's travel-friendly. I cannot see the product squeeze out of the packaging unless you are extremely harsh. Third, the consistency is on the medium. It's very creamy and does not tug on the lips. It applies smoothly, very easy to apply, and there's no stickiness. The velvet tip makes it easy to outline the lips and get at the corner of the lips. It all depends how much you squeeze the product. You can apply a little to a lot depending on how you like the pigmentation. Fourth, the color is gorgeous. Initially, I didn't like the color on me because it was too caramel for my taste. The second time, I actually liked it. I realized it all depends how you wear your makeup and what you are wearing. With that said, the color is good for fall/winter season. It's too caramel for spring/summer or at least for me. Lastly, it lasted until I ate/drank. I have a tendency to wipe my mouth after I eat. For that reason, it doesn't last that long on me. With that said, this isn't a liquid lipstick that is out in the market. It's not transfer-proof. It's like a normal lipstick in a tube. It's extremely comfortable and does not dry out the lips. I didn't see any white residue in the center of the lip from dryness.
Would repurchase: Maybe.
