When I saw this particular color from Essie, I had to purchase it. To be honest, I actually purchased it last year or beginning of this year. I cannot recall.
Product Review: Essie in First Timer

Thoughts: I love mint colors and I think they're great for spring/summer weather. When I saw this, I love how it's more towards green. Most of my mints are toward blue. For this reason, I had to grab it.
Here's a closer look at the color. It's very true to the bottle.
Here's a look at the brush. I tend to compare all brushes to OPI. For that reason, OPI is the perfect medium thickness brush. Essie, on the other hand, is a thin brush.
This is 2 coats of Essie in First Timer on top of Orly Calcium Shield Basecoat. Then I topped it off with Butter London P.D. Quick Topcoat.
Now for my overall opinion... First of all, now I remember why I don't purchase Essie that often. Their brushes are way too thin for my taste. If you like thin brushes, this is great for you. It's my own personal taste and I tend to like medium to thick brushes. They're quick and I find them easier to paint around the cuticles. Secondly, I found this particular nail polish slight thick during application. In the bottle itself it's the perfect consistency, not too thick and not too thin. When applying it on my nails if I go over the area I already colored, it'll get thick. It made it hard to re-paint the same area. With that said, there were no streaking. Unfortunately, there were bumps and it wasn't smooth. The thing I found odd is that it got smoother as days went by. I'm not too sure why. A week of wearing this polish and all the bumps on my ring finger are gone. It looks smooth and pretty. Lastly, the longevity of this polish isn't long. my third day of wearing this, it started chipping on both index fingers. Other than my index fingers, there none.
Pros:
* They always come out with gorgeous colors.
* Simple, square packaging.
* Medium consistency in the bottle.
* No streaking.
* Nail polish gets smoother with days.
Cons:
* Thin brush; hard to paint around the cuticles.
* Slight thick consistency during application.
* Hard to re-paint that you already painted.
* Not smooth.
* Lasting power is short; it started chipping on the third day.
Would repurchase: No.

Great color! I have a similar color from Avon and it's perfect for spring!
Love the color but boo to the formula! I'm so used to the thicker brushes, I would probably make a mess with a thinner one. More strokes = more opportunity to make a mess =P
It's such a gorgeous color! You pointed out something I didn't think of Ahleessa! Most of my mint polishes are blue too. HAHAHA I love this green one. I don't have one green polish. I need to change that. I haven't purchased an Essie polish in a couple of years. Their formulas use to not be that thick. That's not good. I'll have to revisit them and test them out. I'm so finicky about nail polishes now. I threw a bunch out about a year ago. LOL Excellent review.

Too bad the fomula is not that good.. The color itself is very nice though :)
Oh you should wear it! :)
I feel the same way as you!... hehe~ :) Most likely I'll stop buying Essie polishes because of their thin brush. If I do purchase more in the future, it's probably I forgot. :X
I'm finicky with polishes as well. Some people tell me I'm picky but I do have to agree... hehe~ I cannot wait to see what brand you purchase.
Thank you!
Thank you! I do like the color. :)
