Couple of months ago, I bought quite a few masks. I think it's about time to review one brand.
Product Review: The Ylang Gallery Mask in Pearl, Vitamin, and Cherry

Where can you purchase this: Korean/Japanese beauty store
Price: about $1

Made in Korea

Description on the package:
1. After cleansing, soothe your face with toning water.
2. Apply the mask on the face, smooth the mask gently to ensure good contact with the skin.
3. Leave it for 15-20 minutes until the nutrients of the mask are absorbed, and then remove the mask.
4. If essence is left on your face after taking off the mask, tap your face completely being absorbed into your skin.

Cautions:
1. Avoid using on blemishes, pimples, irritated or sunburned skin.
2. Stop using if skin becomes red, swollen, itchy during and after use.
3. If pain persists after mask is peeled off and above sings occur, discontinue immediately and consult your doctor.
4. Avoid contact with the eyes. If contact occurs, rinse eyes thoroughly with water.
5. For external use only.
6. Keep away from children.
Thoughts: When it comes to masks, I'm definitely a newbie.  I'm going to make a fool out of myself but that's the fun part to laugh about something stupid you do. When I did my first sheet mask last year, I didn't know why it was so wet.  I squeezed the sheet mask before putting it on my face! From that experience, I learned what I did wrong. The next time I did a sheet mask, I toned my face afterwards. I actually didn't know you have to tone before the sheet mask, as well as, pat your face with the essence from the leftover from the package. Now I know better and what to look for. The mask is very cooling to the face, as well as, leaves a plump of youthfulness which I definitely need. Unfortunately with all products, the plumpness disappears when you stop using it. From all the masks I have been using, I cannot see anything from this brand that makes it worst compared to others.

Pearl:
* There wasn't a particular smell.
Vitamin:
* It smelled orange/tangerine-like, citrus.

* I wanted some orange during this sheet mask.
Cherry:

* I didn't smell the cherry.

Pros:
* For all skin type.
* It's very hydrating to the skin.
* Leaves a plumpness.
* Comes in many flavors.
* The scent is decent.
* The cost isn't bad.

Cons:
* Hard to find in stores.
* Never heard of this brand.

Would repurchase: Yes.

I'm going to end this post with a package I received last week from Pandagrl. Please check out the blog!  She wants to send out care packages of goodies to people you care about.  I think that's a sweet and smart idea.
She gave out samples to the first 50 people who emailed her.  I was one of them. I received the package quickly within two days.
This is what was in the package. I got chocolate Pocky, strawberry Yan Yan, rice crispy treat, a gummy candy, two Hi-Chew, marshmallow, and a gum.  This was more than I expected!  I gobbled the whole thing in one night.

I liked those masks too, they really left my skin hydrated and plump. :) Soaked with lots of essence too.

Congrats to Jess. Bummer that the generator didn't pick 157 to 160, LOL!

Thanks for writing out the entries on a spreedsheet too! It's a lot of work to do, so we all appreciate you taking your time to write out each of our entries :)

BTW, the sheet mask tips are awesome. I haven't tried sheet masks yet, and I would have probably neglected to tone my face before and after having it on my face.

Congratulations to the winner. :)

I love putting on masks on my face, but sometimes I'm too lazy to wear them.

I remember eating Yanyan when I was young. My favorite flavor was chocolate. :)

Re: My aunt used to be a cook in an Asian resto that's why she knows how to make kim-chi. Her kim-chi is so yummy and a bit sour. I guess sour kim-chis are the best, right?

Lots of love,

That reminds me, I need to use my sheet masks too! I've been using wash off ones lately :)

I've never heard of the mask brand too, but thanks for the review. And that's so sweet of Pandagrl :)

You are right, I didn't receive your entry yesterday. Anyway, you are entered now as aly4realz and not Ahleessa LOL. Did you tried to change your username but it didn't work?

Yep, people walk with their dogs! You should bring Tobey if you guys enjoy this type of activity. :) We'd bring our little one too but she doesn't get along with other dogs...lol. About the steamcream, I don't really know the whole process but they use steam to make it? Check out this linky: http://www.steamcream.eu/

congrats to the winner. lucky girl. hehe... :D ooh, and awesome mask review. i've never used a sheet mask before. i probably would not know what to do if i tried. i remember using a mask from saint yves like a looong time ago. it wasn't a good time either because i used to be very pimply. i don't know what my aunt was thinking, trying to give me a facial with all those zits back then. lol.

ooh. those goodies look so yummy. we have yan yans in the house, but they're all for my son. i can't really eat those unless he's willing to share. he's pretty nice about giving me three sticks. lol.

oh, my goodness. that earthquake was one scary adventure. that was an easter to talk about. hehe... i was at work when i felt the earthquake. we were ringing up shoes for this family. the guy asked if we could feel something. my co-worker and i were confused at first. the moment she said, "oh, yeah. there's an earthquake," i heard the walls rattling, then i felt everything shake sideways. i turned pale. were you at home when it happened? and yes, that was strange how it rained that evening too. plus, i felt an aftershock at 3AM. it was one big jolt, which got me gasping.

oh yeah, speaking of work, i work in sears. :)

i'm sure those colors in the palette will look very pretty on you. you have very pretty eyes to begin with. plus, the neutral eye color looks you do always make them stand out and look very pretty. i can imagine softer greens will look nice on you too and taupes as well. :)

take care. i'm glad to hear you're safe from sunday's quake. :)

Congrats to the winner.

I had never heard that brand mask before but thanks for the review. I need to use my masks more often but I'm too lazy and tend to forget it lol.

Hey Ahleessa, about your comment on my Lash Stiletto review: well it's a lenghtening mascara, not a volumizing one, so I don't really care wether it volumizes or not. I don't understand why people bash a lengthening mascara (for example) by saying that it doesn't volumize. It's NOT a volumizing mascara, what did you expect? If you're looking for volume, go for a volumizing mascara! It dopesn't make sense -_- But Lash Stiletto does amazingly lengthen like no other mascara I've tried!

As for your profile... well I can see your eye on your profile page, but your name is Ahlessa, not aly4realz. That's weird, but I don't know how to help you 0= I think you can't change your username, can you?

oh, gosh. it must've been real scary to wake up to an earthquake while napping. i know i'd get really freaked out if i woke up to one. especially at 2am.

dang. i didn't know there was also an earthquake in indonesia at the time. that's really scary. the baja one was felt in many places too.

about purple e/s, i am pretty sure it'll look great on you too. i can imagine it will. that and green. :) that's so cool you do makeup on other people. so far, the only people i did makeup on are mainly family members. hopefully i'll get the chance to work on friends and other people as well. it would be good practice. :)

my daily eye colors would be neutrals. they're easier and faster to work with. i've been wearing other colors during the day too. well, that is, when i have the time. hehe... neutral colors really do suit you in any season. :) plus, i think they fit any season. great for fall, summer, whatever we have here in cali. hehe... :D

oh, how i wish we still had a cosmetics department in sears. that would be great. especially with my discount. we used to have one 10 yrs. ago, but they got rid of it long before i got hired. i know in canada, the sears there has a makeup counter. lucky them. hehe...

aww... thanks for the sweet, sweet comment on the LOTD on my post. :D yup, the nail polish on the 1st pic totally stands out. hehehe... it's called pompei purple. (it looks more pink than it is purple though. lol.) your posts have really inspired me to buy more OPI. i really love them. the colors are very pretty. :D

you take care now and enjoy your evening. :D

Jannie said...

ahh... the discount? oh, don't worry. it's okay to ask. hehe... i get 20% on apparel, jewelry, and shoes and 10% on appliances, electronics, and tools. i usually get clothes and accessories (that's also 20%). especially clothes for my son 'coz they have good deals on kids' clothes.

oh, my... i heard the northridge one was scary indeed. my co-worker said it was really hard. that's so scary how a bookcase fell in front of your door. i'd be so scared if i got trapped in a room. i hope the bookcase wasn't too heavy for you and i'm glad you did not get hurt from that.

that must've been fun doing makeup for your friend on her son's first birthday. i'm sure she looked gorgeous. :) you do such lovely makeup. especially how you do eyes. you blend so well. :)

yup, that's what i love too about OPI. their brushes. they're big and they make painting nails quick. plus, the color selection is HUGE. i also like how they have collections. there's always something new to look forward to. :)

hope you have a great weekend and i really hope we won't have an earthquake this time. hehe... take care. :)

i did feel something on friday/saturday early morning. it was at about 2:15. i was listening to music and felt a shake. at first, i thought my music was too loud, so i turned my iPod off. i still heard my closet shake. my bed shook as well. it lasted for a couple seconds, but it still was scary.

i'm glad to hear your dad nailed the bookcase to the wall. at least it won't be an earthquake hazard anymore. speaking of earthquakes, i'm glad i haven't heard news of any all day today. thank goodness.

lol. yup, we do have good sales. what i love is our clearance though. especially on kids' clothes. they sometimes go as low as $1.99. i remember buying my son shirts for that price. i also love the jeans. i still buy them at full price because they last so long and they have the right size for him. he's skinny with very long legs, so he's kinda between sizes. it's great we carry jeans that fit him perfectly. :) he sure is spoiled. especially by grandma and grandpa. hehehe...

aww... it would've been nice to see your friends' makeover. i'm sure she looked gorgeous. then again, some people are either shy or scared to post pics on the net. i can totally understand. i remember being shy of posting my pics on the net. then again, facebook kinda helps get used to it as long as it's limited to friends only. hehe...

i'm hoping we have an earthquake-free day today. hehe... we sure can use years and years of being earthquake-free, actually. take care. :)
