Please don't forget to enter Easy Canvas Prints Giveaway. It ends July 28, 2013.
Last month (June) at PHAMExpo Los Angeles 2013, I hauled some products from Lime Crime.
I'm pretty excited for couple of reasons. For one thing, this is my first products from Lime Crime. They are well known for their pigmentation. Secondly, the lipstick I hauled is brand new and I got it before they go on sale. Don't feel back because you can actually buy it July 15 which this post should go live.
Product Review: Lime Crime Lipstick in Babette
Where to purchase: limecrimemakeup.com
Price: $15.99 for 3.5 g/ 0.12 oz
Made in USA
Description from the website: Pastel coral. Think of it as Coquette's pinker cousin!
Ingredients:
Thoughts: This isn't the first time I saw Lime Crime in person. I actually saw it at The Makeup Show Los Angeles 2013. I was blown away with the pigmentation of their products, as well as, their cute packaging. Unfortunately, most of the products were sold out. The ones that were left were out of my range of colors. I'm more a neutral type of girl. That's why I was excited about this color!
Here's the cute packaging. Their mascot/icon is the unicorn.
Here's a closer look of Babette and it's pretty true to color.
Here's a swatch of the color.
With my haul, they included a small postcard of the new lip color. It's also on the main page of the website. It'll look better there than the one I scanned.
Several months ago while shopping, I saw this pretty girl with this unique lip color. I was really drawn to the color and been hoping I would fine something like that. When I saw this lipstick, I knew I had to get it and it reminded me of that day.
Now for how the lipstick looks on me...
It's not that peachy on me. It's probably because I have a lot of pink on my lips. I'll have to neutralize my lips to get it as peachy as it looks on the website and postcard.
Here's how I look overall with the lipstick.
Now for my overall opinion... First of all, this product does not have any scent. Having a scent can be a positive or negative depending on what you are looking for. It's always safe to have no scent. Secondly, the product is creamy. It goes on smoothly and best of all, it does not separate when you put your lips together. I love that I do not have to worry about my lip product separating throughout the day. Even though the lipstick is creamy, I worry if the product will dry up my lips. I normally have dry lips and I need to apply lip balm before the lipstick. Most lipsticks do not hydrate my lips, but actually dry them up. Even with the dryness, I still buy lipsticks in hope that it will be different. Unfortunately, this lipstick isn't an exception. It did not hydrate my lips, but at the same time, it definitely did not dry my lips. I did not see the dry, yucky, white residue in the middle of my lips with this product. That's a big plus for me! The best thing about this lipstick is it's very long lasting. It lasts longer than most lipsticks I have tried.
Pros:
* Cute packaging.
* No scent.
* Pigmented.
* Creamy.
* Goes on smoothly.
* Color does not separate.
* Did not dry my lips.
* No yucky, white residue from dryness.
* Long lasting.
Cons:
* Hard to find in stores.
* Cannot test out before buying.
* Does not hydrate your lips.
Would repurchase: Possibly.
