The Makeup Show LA 2013 I received a swag bag of goodies. Inside the bag, I received samples of YoungBlood products.

The samples I received was a lipgloss, mascara, primer, and eye cream. I will review the products in the future posts. I apologize I am kind of slow when it comes to reviewing products. For this post, I will review the mascara.

Thoughts: I was excited to receive some samples from YoungBlood. Last year, I was fortunate to get their Luminous Creme Blush. I might not use the cream blush at the moment but out of all cream blushes I have tried, theirs is the best! For that reason, I might have high expectations of the brand.
Here's how the original mascara looks like. From the picture, it's a pretty classic looking.
Here's how my sample looks like. It's a pretty decent looking sample and good amount size.
Here's the wand of the sample. At first, I thought I saw fibers on the wand but I was wrong. It's just hair of the wand. If you're looking for a mascara that's really moist, this isn't it. It's on the semi-dry side or it might just be the sample I received. The wand also isn't huge making it hard to get the base of the lashes. It's actually a pretty thin wand and makes it easy to coat the lashes from base to tip. It's also easy for the lower lashes.

Here's how the mascara looks like on me...
The mascara did not weigh down my Asian, straight lashes. It held them curled.
It also thicken my lashes and made them look fuller.

Now for my overall opinion... The first thing I noticed is the mascara is on the semi-dry side. It's not completely dry, but it's definitely not moist. I'm not too sure if that's the reason why it held up my Asian, straight lashes but I was pretty impressed. Another reason why I'm impressed with this mascara is that it's non-waterproof. I don't ever recall non-waterproof mascaras holding up my lashes. I could be wrong since I have bad memories. :X Secondly, I love that the mascara did not clump my lashes together. I'm not a big fan of spider lashes. I think they should be stuck in the past and not in the present. I honestly believe spread out lashes elongate the eyes. It also gave slight fullness, not completely but slight. At the end, I like how my lashes looked with this mascara. The only thing that's holding me back is the price.

Pros:
* Mineral company.
* Thin wand makes it easy to coat the base and lower lashes.
* Non-waterproof.
* Semi-dry consistency.
* Holds up curls.
* Does not clump lashes.
* Slight fullness.

Cons:
* Hard to find in stores.
* Pricey.

Would repurchase: Maybe, the price is holding me back.
