L'Oreal Colour Riche Eye Shadow Smokey Eyes in Sultry Seductress

When I went to Ulta and saw the new L'oreal eyeshadow palettes, I knew I had to get one. I wanted to get a neutral palette but none of them stood out. I actually got a smokey one. Shocking eh?

Where to purchase: ULTA, drugstores, mass merchandiser, and online at lorealparisusa.com
Price: $7.99 for 0.17 oz/ 4.8 g

Made in USA

Description on the packaging:
Thoughts: First of all, there are three types of palettes in the collection; New Essentials, Smokey Eyes, and Bold Eyes (not too sure if that's the name). My Ulta had all the palettes, and I decided to get Sultry Seductress.

The packaging in my opinion has some pros and cons. If you're looking for a tiny palette, this is it. It reminds me of Asian drugstore eyeshadow palettes. If you own some Asian palettes, you know it's smaller than most palettes. This is very similar. I also think the lid isn't well made. It's very plastic-y, as well as, it will easily get scratches. Even before buying, I saw fingerprints on the lids. Thankfully, it's easy to clean.
Here's how the inside looks like. I actually like how they put the eyeshadows. It's not the typical squares which is nice once in awhile. I also think it's easy to reach all corners with a brush or sponges if you use it.
Speaking of sponges, it comes with two different shapes. One end is for the shadow and the other end is for lining your eyes.
Here's a closer look at the eyeshadows. Sultry Seductress has colors running from taupe to purple.
Swatch of the eyeshadows. I really love the taupe color.

Here's a look I did with all four colors of the palette.
Of course, you do not have to use all four colors but I did. I wanted to see how they will look together and I think it came out gorgeous.
Here a side version of the same look.
I did another look with every color except for the purple.
Here's a side view of the look. This is a great look for everyday.

I'm actually content with this palette. The eyeshadows lasted all day long, they're pigmented, easy to apply and blend, and the colors work well with each other.

Pros:
* Wide range of colors.
* Tiny; easy to carry.
* Good mixture of color.
* Pigmented.
* Shiny, shimmery colors.
* Easy to apply and blend.
* Long lasting.

Cons:
* Top is plastic-y and easily scratch-able.
* No matte in this palette.

Would repurchase: Yes, if they have other color mixtures I like.
Rating:  4/5 Tobey's Paws

I got myself this cup/mug from Disney for Christmas.
Isn't it adorable? I love the little ribbon on the handle. It's the same ribbon on Eeyore's tail.

This looks like a lovely palette. All of those shades are so wearable and I would agree that the taupe shade is super gorgeous. Definitely great for everyday worn alone! Too bad the lid is poor quality. I had an eyeshadow palette where the lid broke off soon after I got it =(

Haha the mug is super cute. I used to love everything Winnie The Pooh themed - my room was full of items!

This is my second palette from this line. I actually bought one palette from the New Essentials and the lid broke off as soon as I opened it at home. :( For that reason, I went back and returned it. Then I saw this palette and decided to give it one more try. I'm glad I did, because I love this palette... hehe~

Is your room still full of Winnie The Pooh? I still have Winnie the Pooh doll my friend gave me... hehe~ :)

They're so different in my opinion. First of all, the packaging for Revlon is more sturdier but I like how L'oreal put their eyeshadows. I think the quality of Revlon is a little better, and it has a primer and glitters. It's more versatile. Secondly, depending on the palettes for both brands run from a little pigmentation to a lot. Overall, I say both is pretty decent. I guess it all depends on what you are looking for.... hehe~ I say get this color palette from L'oreal, it's the best in my opinion, and Metropolitan from Revlon. I guess you can say I'm not helpful... lol~ :P

Happy New Year! I hope you have a great 2013.

I know what you mean. I don't wear makeup to work. I sit at a cubicle at the end next to the supervisor. No one comes to visit me, as well as, there's no windows. All I see is walls and see no point in wearing makeup... hehe~ I only wear makeup on the weekends.
