A week and a half ago, my father came back from Korea. It gave me an opportunity to order some Korean makeup. My first haul I'm going to show you is my Holika Holika.
I ordered two lipsticks and a blush. I will review the blush in a later post.
Whenever you order something in Korea, they give you samples. I received cotton pads (in the blue box) and Water March Moisture Full Cream. Now for my review...
Product Review: Holika Holika Heart Ful Moisture Lipstick in BG401 Baby Beige and CR301 Sweet Coral
Where to purchase: holikaholika.co.kr, gmarket.co.kr, and anywhere they sell Holika Holika
Price: around $7.50
Made in Korea
Thoughts: I've heard of Holika Holika and love their packaging, but other than that I knew nothing of this brand. So when it came to ordering products, I was lost until I saw this lipstick. I just fell in love with the heart-shaped product. It's just adorable, and I knew I had to get it! I wanted to be safe and ordered a lipstick I knew that would fit me, Baby Beige (second from the left from the picture above). I also was intrigued by Sweet Coral (fourth from the left from the picture above). So I bought both.
First of all, it comes in a cute box. The box matches the line of the lipstick, as well as, the heart-shaped product. I also like the hearts sticking out from the top.
The tube of the lipsticks is shiny, very metallic, and feminine with the color choice (pink) and patterns (heart and flower).The name of the colors are written on the top of the box. I got Baby Beige and Sweet Coral. One thing I like about Korean brands is that they run with the initials of the color theme. It's pretty much the same for all brands. For example, CR stands for corals and BG for Beige.
How the lipsticks look like when you take the top off.
A closer look at the lipsticks. The left one is Baby Beige and the right one is Sweet Coral.Here's a closer look at Baby Beige. I have to say this is true to color.
This is Sweet Coral. Again, I have to say true to color and I apologize for taking a picture of a used product. I try to take pictures of products before I start using it, but they didn't show up that well. :X
Here's a swatch of the lipsticks. The one on the left is Baby Beige and the right one is Sweet Coral.
Now for how the lipsticks look on my pink lips...
Baby Beige:
Sweet Coral:
Here's how Sweet Coral looks on my lips. In the pictures, it look peachy but it's on the coral side.Now that I talked about the packaging and color of the lipsticks I choose, I will mention my opinion about the product. The first thing I did is smell the product. From the tube, I can smell something sweet but it's pretty faint. It's not extremely noticeable especially when you apply the lipstick on your lips. The first time I applied Baby Beige I did not notice any scent. Sweet Coral is another story. I only smelled the product the first time I applied it, but it was only for a minute.
The texture of the lipstick is smooth and on the creamy side. It glides on your lips while you apply the product. It's very easy to work with. I also like that it doesn't have glitters.
It's pretty decent lasting. It lasted me a good four hours until I had to remove the lipstick. I'm guessing from the name of the product it's suppose to be moisturizing. I don't know if I completely agree on that. It's decent but I noticed dry areas inside my mouth. You know when it turns white because your mouth is dry. Okay, maybe it only happens to me. :X It only happened after couple of hours. It's nice the first two hours.
I wouldn't say there's anything special about these lipsticks. You can get the colors from other brands, but you will not get heart-shaped products. The unique shape and overall cuteness makes this product worth it!
Pros:
* Cute packaging.
* Heart-shaped product.
* Creamy texture.
* Smooth application.
* No glitters.
* No scent while applying.
* Moisturizing for couple of hours.
Cons:
* Hard to find.
* Not a variety of colors.
* Not moisturizing after couple of hours.
Would repurchase: Yes, in Baby Beige.

The heart-shaped lipstick tube is really cute! I love Korean cosmetics because of the packaging, although sometimes the products can be hit or miss.

i have this in baby beige! it was gifted from a friend in korea.
i do agree that it is kinda drying after a while which is surprising since it feels so moisturizing when first applied! ;)
