Montagne Jeunesse Mask in Chocolate Masque and Fruit Smoothie

When it comes to mask, I am ashamed. I'm not the best of doing this process in a weekly manner. I've been trying to be good this year by doing it twice a week (Sunday and Wednesday). Yes, I have a schedule or else I will forget. :X I finally finished my two Montagne Jeunesse masks that I bought beginning of 2010.

Product Review: Montagne Jeunesse Chocolate Masque

Where can you purchase this: drugstore, Ulta, and online
Price: around $2 for 0.7 oz/20 g

Made in UK

Direction on the back: To benefit fully we recommend thoroughly cleanse face with warm water only. Apply evenly to face and neck, avoiding eyes and lips. Now lie back and relax and let the masque do its work. Leave on for 10-15 minutes or until dry. Rinse with water. Pat dry. Use weekly.

My thoughts: The only reason I bought these is because I saw so many people blog about it on their blogs at the time. It really intrigued my interest especially all these yummy flavors.

This mask is towards people who have normal, dry and t-zone skin. It also says it deep pore cleansing. I have dry skin but also my t-zone areas has big pores. Maybe I'm combination which was my case growing up. I feel that my skin is drier than most people though as I age *sigh*. :/

This is good for 3-5 uses, and it smells like chocolate. Not the typical chocolate that you buy from drugstore. It tastes more like Swedish chocolate. Yes, they taste different to me. :P

After using this, I have mix feelings. I noticed my skin is plump compared to before the mask. I also noticed tiny red bumps which wasn't there before the mask. I am not too sure why. :/

The last thing I have to say is that it's the most dirtiest product. After I wash my face, my sink and counters are brown from the mask. For that reason, I try to use this the day before I clean my bathroom.

Pros:
* It smells good, Swedish chocolate.
* Looks like chocolate on the face.
* Plumps your face.
* Dries pretty fast.

Cons:
* Strong scent.
* Needs to wash your face after the mask unlike sheet masks.
* There was tiny red spots on my face; I might be sensitive to this product.
* My sink and counters have brown spots after usage.

Would I repurchase: No.

Product Review: Montagne Jeunesse Fruit Smoothie

Direction on the back: Bursting with healthy goodness, our thick smoothie treat of Raspberry, Mango, Apricot, Peach & Pomegranate isn't a drink but it is bound to leave you in a smiley mood - with fresher, cleansed and softer skin! Be good to yourself! Cleanse with warm water only. Apply evenly over face and neck with fingertips, avoiding eyes and lips. Lie back and relax for 10-15 minutes, or until dry, rinse off with warm water. Pat dry. Use weekly.

My thoughts: After my experience with the chocolate one, I wasn't too thrilled to try this. I actually liked this better than the chocolate one. It smelled better. I tend to like fruity smells and it smelled delicious!!! :)

This mask is suppose to deeply cleansed, fresh, and sparkling. I definitely felt fresh after this mask, but I think I feel that way all the time after I cleanse. :X It just makes me feel clean. I did notice plumpness in the morning which is a big plus. The chocolate mask left tiny, red bumps after masking. This mask didn't which is another big plus. I'm guessing the chocolate mask has an ingredient that this mask doesn't that my skin particularly doesn't like.

It's also easier to clean your face. Since the mask is more on the white-creamy color, you don't notice it dirtying your sink and counter.

Pros:
* It smells good, fruity.
* Plumps your face.
* Dries pretty fast.

Cons:
* Need to wash your face after the mask unlike sheet masks.

Would I repurchase: No, to be honest. I realized I prefer sheet masks over this.

Speaking of masks, I was fortunate to receive a lot of sheet masks from Luna. I will post them up, as well as, products that she sent after I use them.
The first brand of sheet masks I used are FaceQ. Aren't the packaging so cute!?!? The packaging could just sell me. :) I asked Luna which masks I should try first, and she said her favorites are My Beauty Diary and FaceQ. I had to use FaceQ first for the cute packaging. :X

The one on the left is Grape Seed, Green Tea mask. The one on the right is Red Pomegranate, CoQ10 mask. Even though they have fruity scents, you don't smell them. So if you do not like scents, I definitely recommend these.

My face felt plump after usage and the day after. My pores especially on the nose seemed smaller and gave my face a shine. I love how soft my face felt by touch.

Thank you Luna!!! I love the masks. :)

I've never tried FaceQ specifically, but I picked up a different brand (can't remember the name) when I was holidaying in Hong Kong. LOVED it. I know what you mean about your face feeling plump. It's like it added so much moisture to your skin. Wish I could get more of them! :)

Thanks for the reviews! I wanna try the FaceQ masks next - I'm such a sucker for cute packaging haha. I agree that it's really hard to do masks regularly; I only recently started to do it on a regular basis too :) Thanks for following btw! ^^

I remember seeing those Montagne Jennesse masks at the drugstore but never tried them. I'm addicted to sheet masks due to the convenience and lack of mess. So will you be using only sheet masks from now on? :)

(P.S For the MBD masks, it is on the first floor of the Focus department store at the Square :)

So happy you like the FaceQ masks!!

Props to you for using stuff up that you don't like! The department store is called Focus. It's in the middle of the plaza. Just look for New Capital Seafood restaurant b/c it's on the first floor of it.

Thanks for the heads up. I seriously like using either Ancient Aztec Healing Clay mixed with Organic Apple Cider Vinegar masks, English Clay masks, other homemade masks like bananna and avacado, and I really love the Jason Naturals scrub and mask because it totally rocks and it's pure natural and organic. You have to try that sometime, you would like it too if you love good masks. I'm serious. Blessings to you. I emailed ya!!

Thanks for the reviews! I always see those masks in stores but never tried them. I like sheet masks too, I definitely need to get some soon!

As far as I know we only get stuff like palm sugar in the Chinese markets, but I could be wrong! :)

And oh I thought to mention, the sheet masks are difficult to come by overseas, but I found I can get them at Chinese Medicine shops. I don't know if you know what kind of shops I'm meaning. They're good quality too!

Well I'm happy to have tagged you then! Looking forward to seeing your post =) My parents don't get to see my writing much anymore so they don't get to complain...hehe. Girl, several years ago? I don't know if it's a good idea to use it.

what does swedish chocolate taste like O_o?

Yay for FaceQ! I love their mask fabric (fits face tightly), but love My Beauty Diary's effect (absorbs quickly). Have you tried MBD masks :)?

I always see that chocolate mask and debate whether to buy it or not, then end up not buying. Sorry it gave you bumps. Those sheet masks look sooo cute!

So Winter's Bone wasn't that great, huh? That sucks. =\ By "dramas", do you mean the 10 Oscar nominated Best Picture movies? I still need to see Winter's Bone and The Kids Are All Right.

Umm I don't know the name of the brand. It says face mask then some chinese words after it lol. And I'm chinese but I can't read chinese (shameful I know) so I don't actually know what it's called. They do eye masks as well - so like a smaller sheet going around the eyes. So sorry I don't know the name! They were given to me by a chinese doctor I know and I haven't gotten any since so I really should. I'll take a photo or something when I do :)

hey sweetie, i added the swatches you wanted. sorry its taken me so long, i've been crazy busy with school! i did a lot of a lighter swatch for the silent treatment taupe but look at the original swatch photo in the post and it is a lot more purple. and nutty is a lot more similar to satin taupe, with a hint of brown. :)
