Make Up For Ever HD Primer in #6 and Make Up For Ever HD Foundation in #128

I was asked what I thought about MUFE primer and foundation. Since I've been using since the IMATS showing (click here to see my post about it), I thought it's a good time to do a review (almost a month). I will start with the primer.

Product Review: Make Up For Ever High Definition Primer in #6

Where can you purchase this: Sephora, online
Price:
$32

Made in France

Description on the back: I threw the box away before the review. My bad! :X I did check online at Sephora to see what they said. They said #6 is to lighten dark complexion.

My thoughts: I bought this at IMATS because my makeup buddy told me the foundation works much better with the primer beforehand. I thought I'll try it out since I'm almost done with my old primer, a Korean base. I didn't think it would hurt... hehe~ I think it works better on me than the silicon ones like from Smashbox. If I compare it to the Korean brand makeup base I've been using, I still like the Korean one... hehe~ I might be biased, but I feel like the Korean one works better on me... hehe~ :X

Pros:
* Comes in a great packaging.
* Easy to use.
* Helps the foundation to be applied smoother.

Cons:
* Doesn't lighten my skin.
* Don't see any brightening either.
* Doesn't cover my redness.

Would I buy this again? To be honest, no. I'll continue buying Korean makeup bases.

Rating: 3/5 Tobey's Paws

Here's a picture of the different makeup bases I have on my skin, MUFE vs IOPE Color Refine Under Base.
The left one is the MUFE HD Primer and the right one is the IOPE Color Refine Under Base. The green makeup base is to cover your redness, as well as, your flaws (pores, freckles, so on). It doesn't completely cover, but it covers the best I have ever seen on me. :)
The lightening part in the middle and towards the right is the IOPE one. The shiny one on the the left is the MUFE one... hehe~ I still think the IOPE does a better job. What do you think?

Product Review: Make Up For Ever High Definition Foundation in #128

Where can you purchase this: Sephora, online
Price:
$40

Made in France

Description on the back: I threw the box for this one too. My bad!!! I looked online at the Sephora website and it says for medium skin with beige undertones.

My thoughts: Now I can understand why people like MUFE foundation so much!!! It covers but looks very natural on you or at least I think so... hehe~

Pros:
* Comes in a great packaging.
* Easy to use.
* Covers your flaw.
* Looks natural.
* Doesn't make you look like you're wearing foundation.

Cons:
* Really nothing bad to say except maybe the price... hehe~

Would I buy this again? Yes, yes, and yes! :)

Rating: 4.5/5 Tobey's Paws

Here's how the foundation looks on my hand.
Now here's a picture of the primer and foundation on my face.
I think it looks good on me... hehe~ :) If you're wondering what eye makeup I'm using, you can check this post (click here to see it).

Several weeks ago I think or maybe longer. I'm not too good with my timeline... hehe~ :P Yinnie (I just linked) sent me a thank you package (I did her a small favor).
She included way too much! Plus she didn't have to send me anything. It wasn't a big deal.
She included three Barry M pigments. I was excited to see these, because I've heard about this brand for the longest time. I just couldn't get my hands on these... hehe~ This one is #23. Gorgeous color I'll tell you!
This one is #34. I love this color too!... hehe~
The last one is #44. I'm so thankful to finally try this brand... hehe~ I just want one more Barry M pigment in #93 I think. It's the matte mint color one or it's #92. I'm not too sure. I hope one day I'll be able to try that color, but I'm happy with the ones I got... wheee~
She also included Estee Lauder DayWear Plus.
She also sent me falsies! I love the look of long lashes. I just need to master the skill of putting it on... lol~ :X
If that wasn't enough, she sent me chocolates. The left one is strawberry, white chocolate. The right one is plain chocolate. Both good I tell you!!! :)

Thank you Yinnie!!! :)

I'm going to end this post with my haul from the recent trip to the CCO, 4th of July. I'm telling you ahead of time I've been into coral colors from nails to lipsticks. :X
MAC lipstick in Overrich.
MAC lipgloss in Apex. I thought they look good with each other.

great reviews!! i'm too lazy to use primer. i still have like a 97% full thing of the monistat chafing gel, so i'd feel guilty with buying a nice high end one. i really want to try some of the colored MUFE primers though.
and i've also heard so many things about Barry M stuff but I never know how to even look through the stuff.

#128 really suits you!! Melts right into your skin =D Ahhh, you posted half of your face! Can we see the other half soon hehehe :X

Ahhh, those pigments look amazing! I love chocolates from Hotel Chocolat! You were asking me about them in one of my entries a while ago and now you get to try them! =D Yay for getting a great package from Yinnie!

Dang, are we in the minority? Khaki green must suit someone since the Japanese come out with this shade in their palettes hahaha ;D

those coral lipcolors are waaay pretty!! :) :) i love barry m pigments. :) i got a sample from jheng (abubots) and its really really pigmented!

I use the green primer and it works semi-well with my redness and it really works well with the HD foundation. these are products i don't mind paying extra bucks for. :)

Hehehe I like your new layout =D

Awww... Kupono was kicked out but it's okay cos Evan is still in hahaha. They are all so short except for Kupono and Ade!! Maybe dancers are supposed to be short lol

You know what? I feel like calling the Lunasol counter and bugging them for the release date of the fall collection in Malaysia. Which palette would you choose? Lets see if we have similar tastes ;D

Bijin Blair said...

I chose 02 as well!!! OMG! We do have pretty similar tastes hahaha.

I asked you to choose one but I knew you'd have more than one preference lol. The other palette that I'd get is 04 because I'm in a purple phase and it has a flowing river print in the darkest shade ;D

05 is very pretty but I'm sure there are similar looking palettes out there, if not by Lunasol then other brands. I'd prefer my daily palette to be from a cheaper brand. That way, I won't feel my heart breaking if I hit pan hahaha.

Bijin Blair said...

You shouldn't encourage me! I'd walk away from the counter with a tiny shopping bag and an empty wallet hahaha

Is it bad that I want Lunasol's Medium Night more than any of the Kate palettes? It feels very bad to lem for something expensive, at least Kate I can handle ;D Hmmm, I think I can purchase 2.5 palettes from Kate with the money for a single Lunasol palette lol

Oh yeah, speaking of palettes, how many Japanese palettes do you own? I do know that you have a few MM palettes in your arsenal. Are there any others?

Bijin Blair said...

I want the Lunasol palette >>>>>>>>>>> than the MQ lippie that's for sure haha.

I'm the same!!! I can't stop thinking about that thing and sometimes I'll indulge and sometimes I won't because I know I'll be crazy over another item soon enough hee~ :X

Oh five is very little! I expected that you'd have more! ;p

Come to think of it, I don't own any Kate or MM palettes. Everytime a new collection comes out, I'll be like 'Oooh, I'm getting this for sure.' And then I'll wait for it to be released in Malaysia. By the time it comes here, a new collection will be coming out in Japan. I'll then ignore the old collection (cos I have this mentality that new is better) and this cycle goes on and on and on... This is why I don't buy any Japanese palettes =[

Love the new layout!

The MUFE foundation sounds really good, thanks for the review.

I love Barry M pigmnets, they're gourgeous! I'm glad you can finally try them.

Bijin Blair said...

The images of the Lunasol palettes are more tempting on the website compared to the real thing! I dunno if I want to indulge afterall =[

I am CP-ing a Japanese drugstore palette! Right now I'm waiting for the invoice~ This is my first time purchasing a Japanese palette heeeee =D

I'm so lazy to blog these days (no material to blog at all hahaha). How are you doing?

Bijin Blair said...

You have a lot of readers okay! They're just lazy to comment I suppose ;p

Urghhh, out of the five ELF Studio items that I bought, I only ended up liking two! I can see why you don't like them =[

I'm getting Visee since it's not available here =D

That's my Labels, my dear. You can add it from 'Add a Gadget' in your Page Elements. I renamed it as Categories hahaha.

Bijin Blair said...

What!!! Go get yourself some Lunasol/Esprique Precious!!! And and a little bit of everything! I'm soooo envious! I want a makeup buddy as well hahaha

Statistics? How do you check that?

Nahhh, ELF is mehhh to me hahaha.

Hmmm, I think I might have added something to the code. It's been a few months since I did these changes so I can't remember much =[

Hi!

I've been reading your blog for a long time but this is my first comment! ^^ Your skin is so nice, you don't even need foundation! I also really enjoy your food/cooking posts! They look so tasty. I love Korean food but I can't cook lol. I'm a fellow nail addict, if you ever want to peek at some random swatches, please visit my blog in your free time. In any case, you have a new follower! :D (but a long time fan)

P.S.
More doggie pics please! 100000

I wasn't impressed by the MUFE primer either (I had the green one), but their HD foundation is just as wonderful as you said - that shade is a great match for you too!

try blending better.. like with a sponge. fingers won't cut it with this foundation since the formula's particles are so tiny, it will settle into lines.

lol, pretty sure you're biased dear.

this make-up is flawlessness in a bottle. try not to be so biased since you're asian. (;

Ahleessa said...

Anonymous: I'm not too sure if you're talking about the foundation or the primer. I gave great raving to the foundation which I like a lot. The primer I didn't as much since my Korean primer seemed to worked better for me. If you're talking about the foundation, I'm not too sure what you're saying since I said great stuff about it. If you're talking about the primer, it's a different story... lol~

I don't know where you get the idea I use fingers to apply foundation. I never mentioned I used my finger, sponge, or a brush. For your information, I do use a sponge... hehe~ ;)

I don't get being biased has to do with being Asian. Everyone is biased since it's their own opinion. What I say might not be the same for others, but isn't the point of having a blog expressing your opinion? I'm expressing what works for me and what doesn't. Not everyone has to agree with me and that's what makes life beautiful! :)
