Several weeks ago, I received Formula X nail products from Influenster.
I took this picture from my Instagram. I already reviewed Formula X in TGIF (bottom right).
The nail polish was the chosen color for Formula X The System Xcel. At first, I was going to review The System Xcel as one post then I realized each product is sold separately. For that reason, the first one I'm going to review is the nail cleanser.

Thoughts: When I received the email that I'm received these products, I was stoke. It was the most perfect timing since I needed a new base coat.
It comes with an additional top.
Here's a closer look at the color. It's clear, light blue.
Here's a closer look at the brush. Compared to my favorite OPI brush, it's thicker and slightly shorter. The width is on the thick side and the length is barely shorter. The brush also has a curve tip than a straight.
Now for my overall opinion... First of all, I love how wide the brush is. It's extremely easy to use. Quick two strokes and I'm done with the nail. Then I move to the next. With that said, the brush seems more plastic than usual. I notice after my first stroke, the brush separates right in the center. It makes it harder to do the second stroke. After I re-dip the brush into the cleanser, it goes back to shape. Secondly, the consistency feels and looks like water. It goes on clearly and dries within seconds. It leaves a nice, smooth, dry canvas. I can see why it prepares for the base coat, nail polish, and top coat. Also, I noticed the nail beds look matte and the yellow is gone. I use it right after I clean my cuticles. I use oil and a cuticle pusher to move my cuticles. Since it leaves some oil behind, I usually wash my hands making sure I clean the nails with soap. Then I would go straight to nail strengthener. Since I started using this product, I would go straight to the nail cleanser instead of nail straightener after cleaning my hands. With that said, I can see it become drying since alcohol is one of the ingredients. If you have dry weak nails like myself, I don't recommend using this often. I'm trying to use this once a month instead of weekly basis. This is all personal experience. If you have strong nails, I'm envious and you are very lucky! Lastly and since I've been using this set (The System Xcel), the polish has lasted eight days instead of my usual five days. I noticed shrinkage and slight chipping on the tip on the eighth day. That is a huge plus. I definitely want to test these products out more but so far, it's a positive!
