Global Beauty Brand The Body Shop Celebrates 40th Anniversay with New Store Opening in Torrance, California on July 14
NEW YORK (July 7, 2016) - Iconic British-based beauty brand The Body Shop is excited to announce that it will open its doors in the Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance, California on Thursday, July 14. As The Body Shop celebrates its 40th year as a brand that pioneered the philosophy that business can be a force for good, it is expanding its presence in the US and globally by opening new stores with a fresh look and enhanced customer experience.
"We are so excited to bring The Body Shop to a new territory in Southern California at the Del Amo Fashion Center where we will be able to give customers a personalized and engaging experience with beauty expertise and high-quality products, all while giving back to the community," says Megan Grant, US General Manager. "It's about staying true to our roots and enriching the communities we join by bringing people together, while still offering high-quality, fairly traded, cruelty-free products - from our cult-classic Body Butters to innovative Shade Adjusting Drops to our iconic, highly effective Tea Tree products. Our stores are a vibrant, social place at the heart of the community, where beauty, forward-thinking ideas and activism meet."
The grand opening event starts at 10 AM when the store's doors open to the public. Remi Ishizuka, student health coach and founder of the health and wellness blog Rrayyme.com, will host a meet-and-greet from 10 AM to noon to educate customers about the importance of ingredients in health and beauty products featuring natural food brand Purely Elizabeth. The first 50 customers will receive gifts cards worth up to $500 as well as a free Pamela Barsky clutch designed exclusively for The Body Shop with a purchase of $50 or more. Customers will be able to engage on social media with a photo booth at the event.
The new store has a boutique feel thanks to quality materials, streamlined product offers and understated branding on the store front. The store design combines technology and nature to provide a personalized shopping experience for customers, complete with custom skincare consultations and expert advice.
In February, The Body unveiled its new Commitment to Enrich Not Exploit the world, including our people, products and planet. The brand continues to fulfill this commitment by using its business as a force for good. With the opening of the new store in Torrance, the brand is enriching and giving back to the local community through a charitable partnership with the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.

In May, the brand launched its Bio-Bridges initiative, which aims to regenerate 75 million square meters of forest around the world and protect it from exploitation, poaching and unsustainable harvesting by 2020.
