Around the beginning of this year (2013), OPI came out with Liquid Sand or some people might know it as the Mariah Carey's Collection. I did a through review on the nail polishes, as well as, there are swatches. This month OPI is celebrating 50 years of James Bond with the Bond Girls Collection.

They have 6 new Liquid Sand nail polishes. Unfortunately, the mini-set only has 4. Starting with this post and the next few, I will do the mini-sets. After the mini-sets, I will do the other 2 that was not in the mini-set. I ended up buying them in full size.
Here's the back of the package. You apply base coat and then two coats of nail polish. You do not need a top coat!
The first polish I used from this collection is Jinx, Halle Berry from Die Another Day (2002). She's such a hot woman! I wish I looked like her.
Here's a closer look of Jinx. On the back of the package, it says "this mesmerizing matte coral has lucky sparkle."
A closer look at the brush. It's a medium-size brush and as you can tell, there are a lot of sparkles from the polish.
The first two and the last from the left is 2 coats of nail polish with no top coat. The ring finger, third from the left, is 2 coats of polish and Seche Vite Top Coat. I applied top coat out of curiosity. I noticed with top coat, the sparkles disappear and the multi-sparkles are not there. It just looks like coral with coral sparkles, whereas without the top coat, it looks like coral with coral and silver/white sparkles. I like it without the top coat!

Now for my overall opinion... Since I did a thorough review of the original Liquid Sand (Mariah Carey's Collection), I will base this post from that review. Just like Mariah's Carey's Collection, it is easy to apply. There's no streaking and out of all nail polishes I have tried, for some reason Liquid Sands dries the quickest. You can see it dry right in front of your face or at least I can. When you apply the nail polish, it is extremely shiny. As seconds go on, you see it dry to a matte finish. Once the nail polish dries, you can feel the texture of the nails. It feels like sand. As days go on the sandy feel minimizes. It feels less like sand and more a nail polish. It also lasts a good 5 days before it starts chipping. When it does chip, it's very minimal. The hardest part is removing the nail polishes, but it's not that bad. This color is gorgeous and I have received a lot of compliments! Couple of my co-workers bought this nail color after seeing it on me. ;)

Would repurchase: Yes, in this color!
Rating:  4.5/5 Tobey's Paws

beautiful color and texture! :)

The texture looks interesting! I've been avoiding nail polish on my hands recently. Since I wash my hands too often, they chip in around 4 days with seche vite as top coat. They would last longer and better if I lessen my hand washing.. but its an OC thing of mine. I always love seeing your nail swatches! Lol. I've missed out on a lot of your posts. Catch up time!

Thank you! I think it'll look great on your great shape nails.

I was wondering where you have been, but I'm used to seeing you come and go. I know life can get hectic/busy so I understand when you leave, but it's always great seeing you back! :)

You will like this nail polish then since you don't even need a top coat, and it also lasts longer than most nail polishes that I know of.

Thank you! I got a lot of compliment on this... hehe~ :)

Hahaha. You know me well!

Thanks for the greeting. We celebrated it simply. I got a tiny cake without candles to blow! Hahaha I hate that!

Should we get a haircut??

I bet! ;)

(Hmm....I can't remember if it dries faster than Seche Vite. Sorry :\)

Awww~ Sorry to hear you hate your tiny cake without candles. At least people remember your birthday! :) I know when my birthday comes around, people will not remember.

Yeah, I definitely need a haircut. What kind of cut are you going to get?

Ahleessa said...

It's okay. I guess I need to just try Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat... hehe~

Thank you! :)

I meant I hate getting cakes on birthdays! Haha. Sorry if I confused you.

I want it short but my hair goes crazy when its short..

Ahleessa said...

Ahhh~ Sorry for misunderstanding! Most people want cakes on their birthdays. You're an oddball... hehe~ :P

You must have thick hair. My hair is the same. My hair goes wild when it's short because it's so thick. :/

Jamie Panganiban said...

Hahaha. I'm a weirdo! My family likes getting cakes and all that. Even blowing out candles.. I don't! Hahaha.

I do have thick hair. When its so long, it looks fine. People would tell me how thin my hair is. It's not! It's the illusion of having long hair. When its really dry, it falls back flat. When it's short with layers, aaaargh.. especially when it's not completely dry, it looks darn frizzy and untameable..Is that even a word!? hahaha

Ahleessa said...

You are weird... hehe~ :P I have never met anyone who doesn't want a cake.

People think I have thick hair and a lot. It's true I have thick hair, but I don't have many. When I have short hair especially bangs, it's all over the place. You know what's strange? After I get a cut, the ends are sharp and feels like a blade. After it grows out a bit, my ends are finer. :/

Jamie Panganiban said...

Hahaha. I don't like the usual stuff and I find it embarrassing to be sang to and then you have to make a wish and blow the candles..while everyone's taking your photo!

I know what you mean with the end! I think it depends on what they use to cut. Sometimes they use those scissors with razors instead of the typical ones and they give me split ends like no other! I noticed that whenever I trimmed my bangs. When I use plain scissors, the ends feel and look fine and healthy but when I use razors to trim, I end up with lots of split ends and the ends feel rough!

Ahleessa said...

Ahhh~ I understand where you are coming from.

I hardly get split ends no matter how long I go without cutting my hair. The only times I get split ends is when I dye my hair, get a perm, and use a razor to cut my hair. I'm fine with the razor-like scissor.

Jamie Panganiban said...

Lol. I just hate getting attention. For some people, they love it. I happen to hate it. Anti-social much? Hahaha.

Me too! I think I have thick strands of hair to begin with that's why I don't get split ends easily. I find that my friends with finer hair get the most split ends.

Ahleessa said...

I don't think you're anti-social. I think you just don't like attention. :)

Having thick can be good but in all honesty, I want fine hair... lol~

Jamie Panganiban said...

Hahaha. Anti-social in the medical world is actually pretty serious. I just like using that term to describe myself.

I want fine hair too.. But oh well, we always want what we don't have don't we?

Ahleessa said...

I don't think you're anti-social. If you were, you weren't be married and spend time with family. :)

It's so true we always want what others have. That's the story of my life!... lol~
