I know I'm kind of late, but this is the biggest trend at the moment, textured nail polishes. The first I saw was velvet nails, check out my post on Flocking Velvet Nail. Then I saw OPI Liquid Sands which I will talk about in this post. Now I see Milani Texture Creams and Zoya Pixie Dust.

Now for Mariah Carey's Liquid Sand Collection by OPI.
Product Review: Mariah Carey's Liquid Sand by OPI

Where to purchase: ULTA and opi.com
Price: $9 for full size and $12.50 for the mini-size set (3.75 mL/ 1/8 fl oz.)

Made in USA

Description on the back: Dries to a texture matte finish infused with reflective glints of light. Apply base coat and two coats of color. Do not use top coat.
Ingredients:
Thoughts: When I first saw swatches at my local Ulta, I fell in love with The Impossible (hot pink). Originally, that was what I was going to purchase until I talked with a customer. She insisted to get the mini-sized set. She convinced me and I am glad I got the mini-sized set. It was fun playing with all four colors! :)

Now for the nail polishes in this set...
Get Your Number: Wearing this matte blue with sparkles is a great call.
Can't Let Go: Hold on to this matte purple with dazzling sparkle.
The Impossible: This matte fuchsia with star confetti will never give up.
Stay the Night: Make it last in this matte black with red glints.

It was really fun wearing these colors! My co-workers would look forward to each week to see which colors they liked best. We all agree our favorite was The Impossible which is interesting for myself since I'm not a big fan of pink nail polishes. I tend to go for orange/peachy and green/blue colors.

My overall opinion... Out of all the collections out there, this has to be my favorite! The Milani and velvet powder comes only in one color. Zoya has a mixture of colors combine but they're mostly one color with a glitter. OPI has one color with multi-glitters. I especially like Stay the Night, because it's just unique. I know I wouldn't find that in another nail polish.

Just like other OPI nail polishes, it lasted a good five days before chipping. I also like that it's actually a little bit easier to take off than most glitter polishes. For some reason, I did not have to rub as hard with nail polish remover. That's a big plus but you will not remove these like cream polishes. ;)

Pros:
* OPI; brand I trust.
* Multi-glitters.
* Matte, textured nails.
* Fun/hip.
* Last 5 days before chipping.

Cons:
* Only four polishes available.

Would repurchase: Yes, depending on the color.

Since talking about nails, here's my NOTW.
I'm wearing Orly in Androgynie. If you happen to have this nail polish or plan on buying it, I recommend you store it upside down. The glitters tend to fall to the bottom. If you store it upside down, it'll be at the top and it will show on the nails. ;) This is also the new bottle from Orly, black lid. I just bought it and really wanted to try it out. I love the color and highly recommend you top it off with a top coat. It looks better shinier in my opinion.
