Fish Cake Sausages

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile! I just needed some time away from the blogging world... hehe~ My life has been full of hardship and I know things will get better. Aja aja fighting!~!~ I also apologize for not posting a lot of Korean recipes. To be honest, I haven't been cooking much. I've been too occupied with other things and it doesn't give me much time to cook. I finally started cooking again this week. This recipe isn't special but it'll make a nice ban chan, side dishes.

If you need some guidance with the ingredients, you can check my Korean Cooking 101. ;)

I'll show you two simple recipes with this fish cake sausages you can buy at any Korean market. Here goes with the first recipe... hehe~

Ingredients:
fish cake sausage
flour
1 egg
olive oil or any oil for frying

Step 1:
When you open the package, it looks like a sausage. You need to tear the plastic off. It is up to you how you want to tear the plastic... hehe~ ;)
After you tear the plastic, I just cut it.

Step 2:
In a little small bowl, I pour some flour. I coat both side with flour.
Then I do the same with 1 egg. In a small bowl, I crack 1 egg. You can season the egg with salt and black pepper. I just season it with a pinch of salt only and mix. Then with the coated fish cake sausage with flour, I coat it on both side with egg.
In a frying pan, I add olive oil and fry both side of the coated fish cake sausages with flour and egg.
If you like, you can make a soy sauce mixture. In a small bowl, add soy sauce and dilute it with a little water. Then add chopped green onions, red pepper powder, and sesame seed. You can eat this with rice and kim-chi.

Here's the second recipe with the fish cake sausage. This is my father's favorite!... hehe~

Ingredients:
fish cake sausage
onion
olive oil or any frying oil
chopped garlic
soy sauce or noodle soup base

Step 1:
Cut the fish cake sausage into flat, rectangle shape.

Step 2:
In a frying pan, add olive oil and chopped garlic. Once it gets hot, add the fish cake sausages. Fry it for a bit and then add the chopped onions. Fry it for some time and let it turn a little brown. Once it's ready, you can add soy sauce. Since soy sauce is too strong for my taste, I usually just add noodle soup base. It is up to you! ;)
I top the dish with sesame seeds. You can eat with rice and kim-chi. :)

yummy!!! i was at the korean market the other day and saw those, they reminded me of those plastic wrapped sausages I used to eat when I was little -- it does taste a little differently though since it is made with different ingredients I suppose. I am going to try that frying method next time. Thanks for the recipes and ideas :)

Hi Ahleessa, thank you so much for your support through these hard times. Your comment means a lot to me! You are right, I'm a brave person, but when it comes to animals, I'm really sensitive, even more when it comes to my beloved doggie )= It's been 2 days already, and I still can't talk about what happened with friends face to face. Thank you again.

yay, alyssa! welcome back. :D i was wondering where you were. sorry to hear you've been going through some rough times. things surely will get better. you are a good person and good things happen to good people. i totally believe that. :) sometimes, time away from blogging and the net in general is relaxing. blogging is relaxing too, but naps and internet diets are more relaxing from time to time. hehe... i did that last weekend and ended up neglecting my poor farm in farmville. lol.

your cooking made me hungry. i would really like to try fish cake sausages. that dish you made looks so yummy. :D

thanks for wishing me congratulations on the previous gift cards. well, good luck was on my side again and i won another on friday. they announced in on my day off. i was really happy. i was able to my son a shirt and an itunes card. other than makeup, i like music too. oh yeah, what kind of music do you like? i pretty much listen to anything. i'm a bit more of a 70s, 80s, and 90s person though. i grew up to 80s and 90s especially. sentimental value. hehe...

yes, you influencing me to buy things is a VERY good thing. :D first of all, the products are at reasonable prices and they work very well too. thank you so much for recommending the wipes, the born with it lipstick, and everything else you did a review on or suggested. they are all highly appreciated. :) oh yeah, thanks for the tip on connector rings, btw. i'll definitely buy a bigger size. hopefully your area will get more of those bow rings in. i know it'll look cute on you. :)

just like you, i'm fine with gambling once in a while. i usually do tame stuff like slot machines. i don't think i'd want to try tables. too scary. lol.

yup, jordana lip liners work pretty good. especially for a $1.99 value. they don't break easily. they also line the lips pretty good. i buy the ones that don't need sharpening, as usual. hehehe...

i am so happy you're feeling better now. i've missed you for the past few days. enjoy the yummy meal that you made and take care. :)

hi, alyssa! yup yup, please do update me on what's going on through email. take your time and rest though. there's no rush in writing an email. anytime you feel like it, just please feel free to do so. :)

there sure are some yummy filipino dishes too. my favorite is pancit palabok. it's pretty much like noodles with some sour red sauce, ground, friend pork rinds, hard-boiled eggs, and green onions. i can never say no to that at gatherings. lumpia (filipino version of spring rolls with pork inside) is good too. i'm not much of a pork eater, but for some reason both my favorite filipino dishes have pork in them. hehehe...

the banana sauce sounds familiar. is it in the form of ketchup? if it is, i LOVE that stuff. i will eat filipino ketchup with anything. i prefer it over heinz or hunts or whatever ketchup brand there is. LOL.

we pretty much listen to the same music then. i've been listening to billboard for a long time. ever since i've reached my 30s though, i've been kinda out of touch with what's current. my friend tries to get me to listen to what the youngins are listening to, but i usually end up liking just some of it. hehe...

yeah, tables are scary. i feel the same way about them too. i feel like i'll lose a big chunk of money. i might end up sleeping on the table trying to win it back. it does happen to people too. ben said he used to see people literally sleep on tables like at 4 am when he used to work in a casino.

in case i stumble upon f21, i will definitely share what i haul there. probably not much, but they'll make it on pictures. :D

i am so happy to see you back in the blogging world and hearing from you too. once you get the time or chance, it will be great seeing reviews from you too. you are my favorite makeup and review guru after all here on blogger. take care. :)
