Several months ago I finally decided to go with the trend and buy my first Micellar cleansing water from Garnier.

Product Review: Garnier Skinactive Micellar Cleansing Water in Waterproof

Where to purchase: drugstores, retail stores, and online at garnierusa.com
Price: $8.99 for 13.5 fl oz/ 400 mL

Made in USA

Description from the package: This All-in-1 bi-phase cleanser is surprisingly powerful yet gentle to skin. It effectively removes makeup, cleanses skin and refreshes. A multi-purpose cleanser that contains Micellar technology. Like a magnet, micelles capture and life away dirt, oil and makeup without harsh rubbing, leaving skin perfectly clean and refreshed without over-drying.
Ingredients:
AQUA/WATER, CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, ISOHEXADECANE, POTASSIUM PHOSPHATE, SODIUM CHLORIDE, HEXYLENE GLYCOL, DIPOTASSIUM PHOSPHATE, DISODIUM EDTA, DECYL GLUCOSIDE, POLYAMINOPROPYL BIGUANIDE
Thoughts: Although I bought it several months ago, it took awhile for me to use it. I wanted to finish my makeup remover wipe that I was using at that moment.
Here's a closer look at the separation.
Here's a closer look at the opening.
Here's how it worked on waterproof eyeliner on my hand. I drew a line and let it dry for couple of minutes. Then I grabbed the cleansing water on a cotton pad and swiped it once in the middle. This is the result of one swipe and I didn't let it soak on the line.

Now for my overall opinion... First of all, there's no noticeable scent. I just sniffed the product and I didn't smell anything. It also says there's no fragrance on the packaging but it's always good to double check. Secondly, it took awhile to get used to the packaging. I actually find it easy to grab and squeeze the product out. What took awhile was the opening. I was expecting to put the cotton pad on the hole of the opening and flip it sideways. Nothing came out that way but a drip. I realized that I needed to squeeze onto the cotton pad while the cotton pad isn't touching the hole. At first, I squeezed too hard and it spilled next to the cotton pad onto my hand. After couple of tries, I got better and was able to squeeze the product onto the cotton pad. Other than getting used to the opening, I found the packaging decent. It's sturdy, does not leak from the packing, and very travel-friendly. Third, it feels like water and not oil on the skin. There's no greasy, oily texture while using the product. The first ingredient listed is water which is a good thing. It's always good to put healthy ingredients on the skin especially the face. It also says no oil on the packaging, but I'm not too sure why there's a separation. I'm guessing the top part is micelle but not too sure what that is. I just Googled it and my science background did not help at all. Anyways, it looks like oil separated with water. Since there's a separation, I shake the product but there's no mention about shaking before using. It's all mental. Lastly, the product is amazing! It removes everything even waterproof makeup, and it's gentle on the skin. It's not like makeup remover wipes. With makeup remover wipes, I tend to rub the hard to get makeup and then the skin turns pink. I don't need to do that with the cleansing water. It removes everything with a quick touch. After using this product, I doubt I will ever buy makeup remover wipes ever again. I just need to finish the ones I have.
