I was fortunate to receive some Aveeno products. The first one I'm going to review is Aveeno Positively Ageless Skin Strengthening Hand Cream. It's been couple of weeks using this product, and I think it's about time I review it.
Where to purchase: drugstores, mass merchandisers or online at aveeno.com
Price: $5.99 for 2.7 oz/ 76 g
Made in USA
Description on the back: As you age, the cumulative effects of external assaults can cause the skin's protective moisture barrier to bread down, contributing to skin becoming thinner and more fragile over time. Aveeno Positively Ageless Skin Strengthening Hand Cream has been clinically shown to deeply moisture for 24 hours. This formula with Active Naturals Southernwood helps fortify the skin's moisture barrier, leaving it feeling stronger and more resilient. With regular use, the skin's moisture barrier can be improved over time, leaving skin healthier and younger looking.
Thoughts: Before I talk about my thoughts, I tried taking pictures of the ingredients listed on the back of the tube. Since the shape of the tube goes in, it was hard to get the sides of the ingredients. Therefore, I decided not to post the ingredients since you cannot see it *sigh*. Just know that Aveeno Active Naturals "are ingredients derived from nature and uniquely formulated to reveal skin's natural health and beauty."
First, the packaging is very convenient. It's the perfect size to carry with you in your purse or bag. It's not too heavy, and it's not too small. Some travel lotions only lasts couple of usage. This should last a good month or two depending on the frequency of usage.
It's in a squeezable tube, therefore, it should not leak. It's very well made, heavy duty product. I cannot see it bursting unless it's at the bottom of the bag and you have tons of heavy objects on top of it. Then again who carries all these heavy objects in their bags nowadays!?!? :/ With modern technology, we do not need to carry much in our purses anymore. I know I don't. The top is also very sturdy. It does not flip easily which is perfect for you to carry in your bag or purse. ;)
Secondly, the fragrance. It's hard to pinpoint the scent. Sometimes I feel like I smell flowers. At times it's kind of fruity. I'm not a big fan of flower, but this is pretty decent. I actually like the smell. Plus if you don't like the fragrance, it only lasts couple of minutes.
Third, the consistency of the hand cream. It's on the thick side which is perfect for this dry, winter weather. Even though it's thick, it's not greasy. I don't feel the greasiness at all like a lot of thick lotions.
Lastly, I'm going to talk about the quality of the product. No matter how much lotion/moisturizer/hand cream I put on my hands, my cuticles keep breaking especially on the side of the nails. It got so bad that I started breaking the cuticles with my teeth. :X The reason why I have dry hands other than the dry, winter weather is that I work with papers all day at work. I know in this modern world who works with papers nowadays. Unfortunately, I deal with medical records and they're still not up-to-date with technology. Doctors and nurses use a lot of papers. That's another story. :P Since I deal with papers all day, my hands get dry from rubbing on them. I put lotions on all day throughout work. No matter how much I put lotion on, my hands get dry again. My experience with this hand cream was a miracle!!! I noticed a quick result as soon as I applied the first time. It took longer to get dry compared to the lotions I've been putting on. I also noticed the cuticles on the sides of my nails started getting better. Within a week, my cuticles look healthy and smoother.

This sounds like a great hand cream. I have one of Aveeno's hand creams (light green packaging) but I find that it's actually too lightweight because the moisture doesn't last long enough. This one sounds like it's much better though. Thanks for the review!
Sounds great! So many pros! My hands get dry a lot too, especially in winter or whenever I have to handle a lot of papers. I really want my hands to be more soft and smooth looking so it seems I'll have to give this product a try too!
