MAC Zoom Lash Mascara in ZoomBlack

Happy belated Easter!!! I hope you had a great one. I got to see my niece hunt for hers. I kind of miss being a kid. I want to hunt for my eggs too.

I got this mascara free from the MAC store, but I don't remember when that was. Whenever you buy anything from the MAC, ask for a sample. Sometimes they give out good samples like free mascaras and there are times they have nothing. It doesn't hurt to ask.
Product Review: MAC Zoom Lash Mascara in ZoomBlack

Where can you purchase this: MAC counter/stores and online at maccosmetics.com
Price: $14 for 9 g/0.31 oz (mine was 4 g/0.14 oz)

Made in Canada

Information on the website: Major drama. Lasts all day. Creamy, velvety formula builds density and conditions. Feels light, supple. Ultra-sculpted brush has three-sided fibres to embrace and separate each lash, hugging every curve. Coats in one stroke from root to tip. No smudging.
My thoughts: I was really excited to try this mascara out since I have never tried a MAC mascara before! Once I opened the mascara, I started having doubts. For one thing, it's not waterproof. I noticed my experience with non-waterproof mascara, it would hold my lashes down. It's probably because I have Asian lashes, thick and heavy. There has been a few that still held my lashes, even though, it's not waterproof (for example Bare Escentuals Buxom Lash Mascara).
The next thing I was weary is how gloppy it was. I took the picture the first time I opened the mascara. All the glop was at the tip of the wand. I'm not too sure if it's this mascara or all Zoom Lash are gloppy. :/

After trying this mascara for almost three months, it's still gloppy but less. I noticed the glop dried out a bit and is everywhere on the wand. I cleaned the wand with a tissue hoping it will not get gloppy again. I was wrong on that! The glop was everywhere. I realized I just had to deal with it. :X Because of the glop, my lashes would clump together. Some days it wasn't bad and some days it looked like spider legs. :X

I also noticed smudges throughout the day because the mascara is so moist especially underneath my eyes. I look like I had raccoon eyes.

When it came to holding up my lashes, it was so-so. It didn't held it down like a lot of non-waterproof mascaras, but it wasn't curled like waterproof mascaras.
Here's a picture of my eyelashes with the mascara. Usually it's more curled up, but at least it has some curl. I only coated once because of the glop. The more I coat, the more the lashes stick together. I like the look of natural lashes not clumpy lashes.

Pros:
* MAC product.
* Sleek packaging.
* Doesn't totally weigh down the lashes.

Cons:
* Not waterproof.
* Gloppy.
* Wet.
* Doesn't hold the lashes.
* Clumps the lashes together at times.
* Smudges on the bottom.

Would I repurchase: No.

Two Friday's ago I was lucky enough to spend time with Amy from Amy Naree. This is our second time meeting, we first met at the Beautylish event. I also got to meet her adorable, cute puppy Chewie. Tobey and I adored her. :) Amy was so nice to give me all these wonderful sheet masks and beauty products. I will review them in the future posts after I have tried them out. ;) I took her and Chewie to these beauty supply stores that sell nail polishes for cheap. She's so kind and bought me an OPI nail polish!
This is OPI in It's Totally Fort Worth It! I've been wanting this color after I saw a swatch at the Ulta store.

Speaking of nail polishes, I still have quite a few to post. The next few are a prize I won from a giveaway from Winnie. I won a mini-set Essie for J. Crew.
This is Essie in Prima Ballerina. It's a creamy, naturally pale pink.
This is Essie in Innocent. A dusty dark pink. I wore this color and it's a very pretty color. I actually like this color a lot.
This is Essie in Clambake. A creamy red-orange. I think it'll make a great summer toenail color.
This is Essie in Jelly Apple. A delicious and sweet candied red. For some odd reason, it looks bright pink in the picture. :/

The next set of colors are Sinful Colors. I got them at Walgreens when they had the 2 for $1 sale. These are actually my first colors from Sinful Colors, and I'm still not too sure what I think about them yet. :/
This is Sinful Colors in #959 Fly Away. I needed a solid creamy blue color so I can match it to my China Glaze in Crushed Candy (crackle/shatter polish).
Here's how Sinful Colors look underneath the China Glaze crackle polish.
This is Sinful Colors in #220 Green Ocean. It'll make a great topping color.

The next one I got from Amazon. I needed this one since I missed out on the Sally Hansen nail polish in Hidden Treasure. :X
This is Nubar in #G188 Nubar 2010. This is also nail polish that will make a great topping.

The last two nail polishes I got from the swag bag of the Beautylish event. It's from a brand called CND.
This is CND in #519 Raspberry Parfait. I used this on my toenail recently. One week after painting, I didn't even see any chipping or fading. This polish is amazing! I definitely recommend this brand from what I can tell.
This is CND in #564 Amethyst Sparkle. I think it will make a great topping.

Thank you Amy, Winnie, and Beautylish for the nail polishes!!! :)
