Aveeno Makeup Wipes, Sweepstakes, and Giveaway Winner

Please don't forget to enter Zoya Nail Polish Set Giveaway. It ends August 18, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. EST (Eastern time).

Aveeno has been a big part of my life since I could remember! I feel very fortunate/lucky to receive Aveeno products before their launch. For this post, I will review their new Aveeno Ultra-Calming Makeup Removing Wipes.
Product Review: Aveeno Ultra-Calming Makeup Removing Wipes

Where to purchase: drugstores, mass merchandisers, and aveeno.com
Price: $6.49-6.99 for 25 wipes

Made in USA

Description from the back: Oil-free - Noncomedogenic - Dermatologist Tested - Ophthalmologist Tested

Sensitive skin can be unbalanced, leading to irritation and redness. Help rebalance your skin by cleansing with Aveeno Ultra-Calming Makeup Removing Wipes. These gentle, soft wipes remove dirt, oil, and even makeup. With Active Naturals Calming Feverfew, an ingredient related to Chamomile, these wipes leave your sensitive skin feeling soothed and balanced to help reveal your natural beauty.
Ingredients:
Thoughts: I was excited that Aveeno came out with makeup wipes. They're becoming more versatile in the beauty industry! :) Here's how the packaging looks like...
This is taken in natural light without sun shining on the product.
When you open the lid.
I love that the wipes fit perfectly in the hole. I've had experiences in the past the holes were bigger than the thickness of the wipes. The wipes would fall back inside the package. :/
The cloth is smooth on both size. There's no bumps or a grainy texture. It's also cloth-like. I've had wipes in the past that was more paper-like and it tore while removing my makeup. I did not have to worry about these wipes. :) The dimension of the wipes are 7.4 inch x 7.2 inch (19 x 18.5 cm).

Overall, these wipes are really good! They're sturdy, moist, and removes really well even mascara. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the smell. It suppose to smell like chamomile, but I think it smells more like a rose to me. I guess it doesn't matter. They're both in the flower family. If you like flower, this is perfect for you! :)

Pros:
* Aveeno; a brand that uses natural ingredients.
* Oil-free.
* Comes with a lid not a pull-up tab.
* Smooth texture.
* Cloth-like.
* Removes really well.

Cons:
* Flower scent.

Would repurchase: I would if it comes in a fruity smell.
Rating:  4/5 Tobey's Paws

Kirkland Wipes and Ulta Event

I've been in search for makeup wipes for some time. The one makeup wipes I really like is GEO, but it's one expensive brand. I honestly believe when it comes to wipes, you can buy cheaper and it still will be good. That's just my opinion. :X I recently got a huge box from Costco and think it's about time I review it.
Product Review: Kirkland Daily Facial Cleansing Towelettes

Where can you purchase: Costco
Price: $11.49 for 150 6 X 8 in.

Made in USA

Description on the back: Daily Facial Cleansing Towelettes are the easiest, most effective way to get a complete skin care regimen. Use daily to deep clean skin and thoroughly remove make-up, dirt and impurities. Your skin is refreshed, while also nourished and moisturized. No rinsing necessary.
Ingredients:
My thoughts: I first saw this at my sister-in-law's vanity table, and was curious to know about it. My sister-in-law liked it enough that she bought another box from Costco. It intrigued my interest, because I know that I'm pretty bad with smell. She's worst than me! I cannot stand the smell of most of the makeup wipes. They all smell very flowery-like which I don't like. I'm more a fruity type of person. :)

After buying this from Costco, I was amazed at how many packages were inside!
There are four 30 counts resealable flip top lids. I like that it has a lid! Most wipes don't and I can see air going into the package without the lids if you don't close it well. With these lids, you cannot make a mistake or at least I think so.
There also two 15 counts travel packs. I like how the travel packs has less and weighs less so you can carry with you. I think it's a genius idea to put in the travel pack as well. :)

Now for the wipes, I think it's very well made. It's very sturdy! On the box, it says it's made with chamomile. Ahhh~ That makes sense because that's the flower I smell. It's not very strong fragrance which is a big plus to me! Most fragrances are so strong that I cannot endure it, and sometimes it stings. Yes, I am that sensitive. :P It cleans really well as well. :)

Pros:
* Pretty decent price.
* Comes with a lid.
* Travel pack.
* The wipes are well made.
* The fragrance isn't strong.
* Works well and removes makeup.

Cons:
* Flowery smell but it's light.

Would I repurchase: Yes.

This past Saturday my Ulta had an small event. Kym Johnson from "Dancing With the Stars" came to promote "Dancing With the Stars" hair pieces.
I knew she was going to be there and I went just to see how she looked in person. As soon as I enter Ulta, she was right there smiling at me. Everyone around her turned around to look at me. I didn't know what to do but go ahead and speak with her. :X She's so skinny and tall in person! I do have to say she is extremely sweet. :)

After speaking with her, couple of the girls who were with her put "Dancing With the Stars" hair piece on me. They told me to look around Ulta and when I came back, Kym Johnson was gone. :/ I asked the girls who did my hair if I should give it to them. They told me to keep it. How nice!!! :)
Here's the hair piece. It looks very natural and it's really shiny! I wanted to take a picture of it on my head, but  none of the pictures came out well.
I had one of my nieces, the fourth one, model it for me. I tied her hair in a bun and put the hair piece into the bun. It looked really good on her! :)
Of course, I had Tobey model it as well. :X He wasn't very happy. He tried to take the hair piece off with his paws. I told him I would give him a cracker if he modeled it. He would do anything for food! :)

Disclaimer: The products mentioned in this post are bought with my own money except for the hair piece. They gave it to me for free. I am not affiliated with any company nor getting paid to advertise any products. This post is written with my honest opinion.

Epielle Makeup Wipes

Please don't forget to enter the $75 gift card to SkinCareRx (click here to enter)! It ends July 4th at 11:59 pm PST.

Around October/November of last year, 2009, I bought three makeup wipes from Epielle (click here to see the other things I bought or received at the Korean Festival). It's not a popular brand but you will see this often in a lot of stores or at least I have... hehe~ I think I will review these since I'm on my third wipes. :)

Product Review: Epielle Cleansing Tissues in Green Tea, Aloe Vera, and Cucumber
Where can you purchase this: smaller stores but I got mine at a festival
Price: $1-2 but I got mine for 3 for $5 I believe

Made in Korea

Information on the back: Before I start, I don't have the package for the Green Tea one. I threw that one away but I believe it's the same one as the Aloe Vera.

Make-up Remover Cleansing Tissues have special dirt-trapping fibers that gently cleanse away dirt, oil, make-up, and even the toughest waterproof mascara. With the convenience of pre-moistened cloths, they work in seconds to leave you feeling smooth, fresh and completely clean-anytime, anywhere!

The cucumber one had different information.

Epielle Cucumber Cleansing Tissues have special dirt-trapping fibers that gently cleanse away dirt, oil make-up and even the toughest waterproof mascara. With the addition of Cucumber extract, the convenient pre-moistened tissues not only provide exceptional cleaning, but also leave your skin feeling smooth and refreshed. Freshen up without water-anytime, anywhere!

All of them have...

* Hypoallergenic
* Won't clog pores & moisturizes skin
* Safe for contact lens wearers
* Oil Free
* Refreshing

Direction on the back: Gently wipe face, using both side of cloth to deep clean and refresh, leaving no residue. Best if used within 45 days, after opening. Keep package tightly close, and store in a cool, dry place when not in use. After use, dispose of cloth in a trash receptacle. (do not flush)

Ingredients: There's a slight difference between the Green Tea/Aloe Vera and Cucumber. I will post both. This one is Green Tea/Aloe Vera.
This is for Cucumber.

My thoughts: When I first used the Green Tea, I liked it but towards the end of using the wipes I wasn't happy. For some odd reason, towards the end the wipes were dried. It was tough on my skin and it tugged. That doesn't help my wrinkle faced... lol~ :P I was kind of skeptical when it came to using the other two I have left, Aloe Vera and Cucumber. I was wrong!... lol~ The Aloe Vera one didn't dried out towards the end. Either I didn't close the Green Tea one well or I just had a bad bunch. I would like to think it's the second... lol~ :X I also noticed the wipes of the Cucumber one is different from the other two. I'm not too sure why but the Cucumber is more softer. It's also more flexible. In all, I think they're good wipes. They remove the makeup well! :)

Pros:
* Cheap.
* Made from Korea (being biased here... lol~).
* Removes the makeup well.
* Easy to carry around.
* Cucumber has softer wipes.
* Cucumber one smells like cucumber.

Cons:
* Green Tea dried out towards the end.
* Some have strong scent.

Would I buy this again? Yes.

I will talk a little about the different wipes... hehe~

Green Tea:
* It felt nice in the beginning.
* Dried out towards the end.
* It had a scent but I wasn't too keen on it.

Aloe Vera:
* It felt nice to the skin.
* It didn't dry out.
* The scent wasn't strong.

Cucumber:
* The wipes are the softest of the bunch.
* The wipes are made different than the other bunch.
* The wipes are flexible/stretchable.
* Smells like cucumber.
* The scent can get strong at times.

I'm going to end with couple of nail polishes I got in the past few months.
This is Nicole by OPI in Fresh Squeezed! I've been into peachy/coral colors... hehe~ I think the color is hot and do I need more in this color. Nope!... lol~ :X I got this free through the Seventeen magazine. They had a special towards the end of May for a free Nicole by OPI nail polish at Ulta. I believe it's over. Sorry my bad I should have posted this earlier!!!

I received two Etude House nail polishes from a friend.
This one is in #PK006. It's a metallic, pastel pink color.
This one is in #PK008. It's a light pink with glitters.

Thank you friend for these!!! :)

Disclaimer: The products mentioned in this post are bought with my own money except for the nail polishes. I got the nail polishes free as a gift or through a coupon for a free product. Zoya Haul and Swatches

Wow I didn't realize the last time I blogged was in July. Time sure flies!... lol~

Anyways, couple of weeks ago I bought 6 nail polishes from Zoya. They had a promotion going on when they reached 5000 followers on Twitter (click here for Zoya twitter account); buy 3 nail polishes and only pay for shipping $6.95. I couldn't refuse since each nail polish would be around $2.30 each. That's a pretty good deal!... hehe~ ;) Here's what I got...
(L-R: Drew, Cassi, Midori, Harley, Ki "posted", Loredana)

Now for the swatches...
Drew:
I'm wearing this right now on my toes, and it's a gorgeous mauve color! :)

Cassi:
Gorgeous pinkish-peach color!

Midori:
I'm wearing this right now on my fingers. Love it! :)

Harley:
Gorgeous grayish-silver color. I can't wait to try this for the fall!

Loredana (matte):
Pretty charcoal color. I think it'll look great for the fall!

That's my Zoya haul, and I believe they have a new promotion coming up this week. Check their twitter!!! ;)

This past Friday I went to J-town with my friend, her daughter, and her friend from high school who was visiting her. I bought some stuff... eek~
I needed a new make-up remover tissues since I finished the box of Geo tissues I had (click here for the review on Geo). I have never tried this brand but my friend said the cucumber one was good. I decided to buy the aloe one since it was the last box they had. It must be popular or they didn't restock the aloe one. I would like to think the first... hehe~ :P
I also bought this Hello Kitty bag. I just couldn't refuse with the 50% off deal... wheee~ :)
