Scented Body Creme
Please don't forget to enter Victoria's Secret Blush Giveaway. It ends December 22, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. PST (Pacific time).
I received samples of Scented products. If you're like me, you have never heard of Scented. Scented is an online website that sells bath and body products. Their mission...
"We offer high-quality, luxury bath and body products that are completely toxin-free and derived from nature as well as an opportunity for women who wish to earn an income alongside all of their other responsibilities."
Here's a picture of the samples I received.
For this post, I will review the body creme. It's the container on the farthest right.
Product Review: Scented Body Creme in Coconut Lime Verbana
Where to purchase: scentedco.com
Price: $18 for 8 oz
Description on the site: Hand crafted with skin-softening botanical ingredients, our decadent Body Creme is bursting with fragrance and offers intense nourishment and moisturization. In tons of amazing fragrances, our Body Creme softens skin and combats dryness, leaving it lightly perfumed.
Ingredients:
Thoughts: In all honesty, I had no opinion about this product. I have never even heard of this brand. So when I received the samples, I was most excited about trying the body creme. It reminded me of The Body Shop Body Butters for some odd reason. There was one thing I was disappointed about and that was the fragrance I received. I'm not the biggest fan of coconut. I cannot even eat it! Let me tell you what they wrote for coconut lime verbana...
"A zesty citrus bouquet of lime, kumquat, grapefruit, lemon, with a soft floral undertone of jasmine, on a background of musk and sandalwood."
In their description of the scent, there's no mention of coconut. Even when I apply the product, I cannot smell coconut whatsoever. Their description of the scent is very true to the smell while applying. It's very citrus-like which I happen to like! If you don't like coconut lime verbana, they have other scents. They have herbal lavender & lemongrass, black raspberry vanilla, New York, and mango mandarin.
Even though I did not smell coconut, I noticed it in the ingredients (coconut oil). I also noticed it's one of the shortest list I have seen and they're all natural. There's no ingredients that is harsh to the body, as well as, no parabens. The two ingredients that stand out to me are cocoa butter and shea butter, moisturizing products.
Here's how the product look. It looks very thick like body butter from The Body Shop.
Here's a little of the body creme on my hand. It's not thick at all! I wouldn't even say it's a cream. It's more a lotion to me. In my mind, the concept of a lotion is always on the light side. For that reason, I think of lotion great for the summer when you don't need that much hydration. With this winter weather when our skin gets dry, lotion will not cut out for me. Let me tell you I'm wrong about this light body creme. This product works better than any thick consistency body product I have ever tried! Yes, it works better than body butter and I hate to admit it. :X
I apply this creme right after I shower and it hydrates me until the next time I shower. Most body products only last me a day and if I'm lucky two. The first two places I notice dryness other than my hands are feet and legs. With this product, I never notice any flakiness whatsoever. The only thing I don't like is that you have to apply a lot of this product. If you grab a little, for example the amount pictured on my hand, it won't go far on your skin. It sinks into your skin quickly and does not spread like butter. For that reason, you have to use a lot. Overall, this is a great product and I highly recommend it!
Pros:
* All natural ingredients.
* No parabens.
* Hydrating ingredients; cocoa butter and shea butter.
* Sturdy container; it won't open accidentally or break.
* Smells citrus-like.
* Extremely hydrating!
Cons:
* Need to buy online unless you know a sales representative.
* Light in texture.
* Need to apply a lot.
Would repurchase: Yes, great for winter weather.

Aveeno Positively Ageless Skin Strengthening Body Cream
This is the third body lotion/cream from Aveeno that I received in one package. I already reviewed Aveeno Positively Nourishing Energizing Body Lotion (my favorite scent) and Aveeno Positively Nourishing Calming Body Lotion.
Product Review: Aveeno Positively Ageless Skin Strengthening Body Cream
Where to purchase: drugstores, mass merchandisers, and online at aveeno.com
Price: $8.99-$9.99 for 7.3 oz / 207 g
Made in USA
Description on the back: As you age, the cumulative effects of external assaults can cause the skin's protective moisture barrier to break down, contributing to skin becoming thinner and more fragile over time. AVEENO POSITIVELY AGELESS Skin Strengthening Body Cream has been clinically shown to deeply moisturize for 24 hours. This formula with ACTIVE NATURALS Southernwood helps fortify the skin's moisture barrier, leaving it feeling stronger and more resilient. With regular use, the skin's moisture barrier can be improved over time, leaving skin healthier and younger looking.
Ingredients:
Thoughts: The first thing I noticed is that this is a body cream not a body lotion. The word cream tells me that this product is more thicker in consistency compared to lotions. It'll be great for dry skin, as well as, aging.
With most products, I always smell it. Scent is a big favor for my purposes. If a product smells bad, who wants it? I know I don't. I'm also not that great in distinguishing scents but to my nose, it's on the fruity side. I actually like it! The scent lasts for a certain amount of time. I would say around five minutes. Either my nose gets use to the scent and don't realized it or the scent isn't long lasting.
I love that the product comes in a tube. I don't have to dig my fingers into the container and leave some residue. I also like that dusk in the air does not go into the product. It's just sanitary safe!
Here's how the cream looks. To be honest, I was shocked about the consistency of the cream. I was expecting it to be thicker than the lotion. They were the same to me. If they're thicker, I did not notice. The product also felt the same as the lotion, as well as, the lasting time. I did not see any differences between all three. One thing I noticed is that the cream has mushroom extract. I actually had to research a little. Here's what Ganoderma Lucidum does...
"is an amazing beauty care fungi of anti-wrinkle, anti-inflammatory, stain removal, skin protection, hair glossing to maintain a young state."
I got this from http://www.superganoderma.com so I do not take full credit. Wow, mushroom extract is so intriguing! I want to try more products out with mushroom extract.
I do have to admit it improved my skin, but then again any hydrating products help me out since I have dry skin to start with. I think it's more noticeable on people with aging body skin. Then again it's also good to start now to prevent aging skin. ;)
Pros:
* Aveeno; a brand that uses natural ingredients.
* Mushroom Extract; prevention of aging skin.
* Smells good.
* Comes in a tube; sanitary safe.
* Sturdy lid.
* Creamy texture; semi-thickness.
* Moisturizes dry skin.
Cons:
* Don't see expiration date.
Would repurchase: Yes.

Aveeno Positively Nourishing Calming Body Lotion
This is the second of the Positively Nourishing Body Lotion from Aveeno. I already reviewed the first one, Aveeno Positively Nourishing Energizing Body Lotion.
Product Review: Aveeno Positively Nourishing Calming Body Lotion
Where to purchase: drugstores, mass merchandiser, or online at aveeno.com
Price: $5.99-$6.99 for 7 oz/ 198 g
Made in Canada
Description on the back: This luxurious body lotion with lavender and chamomile envelops your skin in lasting moisture while its relaxing scent soothes your senses.
Powered with ACTIVE NATURALS Colloidal Oatmeal, the natural ingredient most recommended by dermatologist to maintain healthy looking skin.
Ingredients:
Thoughts: Since I had such great experience with the Aveeno Positively Nourishing Energizing Body Lotion, I was hoping for the same. It did not let me down! The only thing I was not keen on was the scent. As time went on, I actually did not mind the scent. Don't get me wrong I still like the Energizing better, but the scent was fine after awhile. I cannot distinguish if lavender or chamomile was stronger. Since I'm not a floral person, I don't know my scents. :X
The consistency of the lotion is semi-thick. It looks thick in the picture, but it's a lot creamier than you think. When applying the lotion, it's smooth and melts in your skin. It kind of reminds me of The Body Shop Body Butter. I like that it's not extremely thick that it's hard to spread on your skin. If you have extremely dry skin, it will take couple usage before it moisturizes your skin. If you're semi-dry, I think this lotion is perfect!
One thing I like about the body lotion is that it comes in a tube! I like the concept knowing it's sanitary safe and the germs cannot go into the lotion. I also like that you can carry this tube around without worrying it will burst in your bag for example. I hate traveling and putting the products in a Zip Lock bag fearing it will burst. I don't have to do that with this lotion. The lid is very sturdy and it is impossible for it to open.
Pros:
* Aveeno; brand that uses natural ingredients.
* Comes in a tube; sanitary safe.
* Easy to carry.
* Lid does not easily open.
* No fear of it bursting.
* Creamy consistency.
* Semi-thick.
* Melts like butter.
* Moisturizes semi-dry skin.
Cons:
* Floral scent.
Would repurchase: Yes, but probably in the other scent.

Aveeno Positively Nourishing Energizing Body Lotion
Please don't forget to enter my $100 Gift Certificate to Shopbop. It ends April 8, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. PST (Pacific time).
Sorry I have not blogged in awhile! I've been away the last two weekends which made it tough to blogged. Now I'm back and I will try my best to blog more often. :)
I've been using a mixture of many Aveeno body lotions the last several months. I think it's time to review one of them.
Product Review: Aveeno Positively Nourishing Energizing Body Lotion
Where to purchase: drugstores, mass merchandisers, or online at aveeno.com
Price: $5.99-6.99 for 7 oz/ 198 g
Made in Canada
Description on the back: This luxurious body lotion with grapefruit and pomegranate envelops your skin in lasting moisture, while the energizing citrus scent invigorates your sense.
Powered with ACTIVE NATURALS Colloidal Oatmeal, the natural ingredient moist recommended by dermatologist to maintain healthy looking skin.
Ingredients:
Thoughts: Out of the three body lotion I received, I was most excited to try this one because it was a fruity scent! If you don't know me, I tend to go for fruity smell over any other smell like floral. It just smells better or at least to me. :) With this lotion, I smell grapefruit more so than the pomegranate. I hardly smell pomegranate. It has a very sour smell to this lotion. I tend to not like sour taste, but the smell isn't bad at all. I actually like the sour scent! I also agree with the description "the energizing citrus scent invigorates your senses." You can definitely smell the lotion while you're putting it on. I think it's best while you're putting it on after your shower especially in the morning. :)
The consistency of the lotion looks thick, but it's actually a lot more creamier than I thought. If you have really and I mean really dry skin, it'll take couple usage before it moisturizes your skin. If you have semi-dry skin, then this lotion is great! When I first used this lotion, I had really dried skin. The first usage it helped, but I felt some dryness. The second usage my skin was on top shape. This lotion is best after the winter weather to spring weather.
I also like the packaging of the lotion. It makes it easier to carry with you. It came in handy during my weekends out of town! I did not have to worry about it exploding in my baggage.
Pros:
* Aveeno; a brand that uses natural ingredients.
* Convenient to carry.
* Comes in a squeezable tube.
* Lid does not easily flip open.
* Dominant scent is grapefruit.
* Scent invigorates your senses.
* Creamier consistency; semi-thickness.
* Moisturizes semi-dry skin.
Cons:
* Cannot smell pomegranate.
Would repurchase: Yes.

L'occitane Almond Delicious Paste
End of last year, I checked out L'occitane outlet and bought a body exfoliate. I bought the travel size to make sure what I thought about it before investing money in the future of this product. I'm almost at the end of this product and I think it's about time I review it!... hehe~

Product Review: L'occitane Almond Delicious Paste
Price: $8 for the travel size, 1.7 oz. (I believe the outlet was cheaper but NOT 100% sure)
Made in France
Information on the back: A delicious blend of almond butter and almond oil, infused with crushed almond shells and sugar crystals this exfoliating butter offers perfect exfoliation for the entire body.
Description on the website: A pure and delectable body treatment. Crushed almond nuts and sugar crystals, whipped with nourishing almond oil and almond butter, stimulate cellular activity and gently exfoliate skin. Massage the paste over wet skin to release the nourishing benefits of almond proteins. Skin will be smoother with its contours better defined and toned.
Ingredients:
My thoughts: Before I talk about this product, I thought I would tell you about my body skin. I have horrible body skin and I'm ashamed of it! :X I have bumps on my arms and legs, and no matter what I do they never go away *sigh*. For that reason, I exfoliate and use rough sponges when I shower. I also moisturize my body every time I come out of the shower. If I don't do this, my skin gets worst *sigh*! By doing this, it hasn't improved my skin but it helps not getting worst... lol~ :X If anyone knows how to improve my body skin, PLEASE tell me!!!
The first thing I do with anything is smell the product... lol~ It's very nutty smelling. If you like nutty smells, you will like this. Since I'm not a big fan of nutty smells, I didn't like the smell much... lol~ :X The good thing is the smell disappears pretty quickly. You will smell it while exfoliating but once you wash it off, it's gone... wheee~ I also noticed the smell seems very organic. It seems very natural not chemically made which I really like! :)
The next thing I noticed is how gritty the product is... duh~ :X Of course, it will be gritty since it's made out of almonds... hehe~ :P
You could definitely see the crushed almonds in the paste. The best part is that it's not only for the looks but you can actually feel it. I have tried body scrubs/exfoliates in the past that has a lot of particles, but you cannot feel it. With this, you can definitely feel it working on your skin.
Pros:
* L'occitane; their products are usually good.
* Organic smell.
* Exfoliates; the particles don't disappear.
* Can see the grind up almonds.
* It feels like it's working because you can feel the exfoliation.
Cons:
* L'occitane; their products tend to be on the expensive side.
* Smells nutty.
* Can see the grind up almonds on the tub.
Would I buy this again: Yes, just wish it was cheaper... hehe~

When I bought the paste, they were kind enough to give me a sample... wheee~
They gave me L'occitane Honey & Lemon Delightful Cream. I was really excited to try this sample out because I'm a big body cream/lotion person. I have to if I want to improve my body skin... hehe~ :P I'm not going to thoroughly review this product, but just a quick note for myself. I have a tendency to forget what products I have tried and liked/disliked. I have a tendency to buy things again... lol~ When I write it on my blog, I can come back to look and remind myself. :X Yes, I'm that forgetful!... lol~ :P
Anyways from what I remember, I hated the smell!!! Oh mi gosh it was one of the worst smelling lotion/cream I have tried!!! :X If the smell was decent, I would have loved this product. I cannot pinpoint the smell but it was something I have never smelled before... lol~ In my honest opinion, I thought I would love the smell because I love fruity/citrus smells more than anything but this wasn't citrus-y at all. :/ Other than the smell, it was really moisturizing and reminded me of The Body Shop Body Butter; how it melt into your skin. I review The Body Shop Body Butter and you can see why I love it... hehe~ This cream was very moisturizing and felt great on the skin! Too bad the smell over powered the texture. :X
