What Makes a Great Hair Dryer?

I own one flat iron, as well as, a mini-flat iron and I think it does a great job on straightening my hair. Out of curiosity, I decided to look on Best Hair Straightener. Is yours on the list?

Instead of the Best Hair Straightener, the Best Hair Dryers intrigued me more! It's because I'm in search of a new hair dryer. The one I own is old! It's probably more than 10 years old. :X The question I want to ask is how often do you repurchase a hair dryer? The one I own does not work that well especially, the "On" button. You have to push on the "On" button for the dryer to be turned on. If you let go of the "On" button, it turns of. I think it's time for me to get a new one, but I'm having a hard time trying to figure out which one I want.
I noticed most of the hair dryers come with a flat top. From the looks of it, it's an attachment but I am so out of the loop. I only noticed those attachments at the hair dressers. :X I also noticed the brush-like attachment. I'm not too sure what each one does, but isn't it cool!?!?
You can also get zebra prints. How cool is that!?!?

Now for my question...

What do you look for in a hair dryer? How do you know it's a good hair dryer?

  1. I look for high wattage! 3000 watts is ideal!

  2. I think that 'brush thing' attachment is probably a diffuser? If you scrunch up curly hair and dry it with that attachment it becomes suuuuper curly!

It's hard to know what's a good hairdryer I guess. I just choose hairdryers that are quite powerful, with ionising setting, cold and hot settings and various levels of wind speed (normally 3). It's nice if they also come with additional things like hair dividing clips to dry, paddle brush, tangle brush etc. but they're just optional.

  3. At first I thought the weird round brush thing was really useless, but once I used it, I fell in love. It dries your hair without your hair flying everywhere so it's really good for updos and stuff.

  4. I need a hair dryer than can blow strongly but not too hot. Japanese dryers are too slow!

  5. This is a good question because I'm wondering the same thing myself. I have only bought the cheapie dryers from Conair and they seem to be working fine, but I'd like to invest in a professional dryer one day. I hear T3, Solano, and FHI are supposed to be really good.

  6. I'm a noob in hairstyling products, only own one hairdryer and flatiron so far and both of them are not in the best shape right now, LOL.
I think as long as it helps to dry my hair, I'll think it's good hehe..
