Manicure Monday: Julep in Dianna

My friend has gifted me Julep polishes.
I took this picture from my Instagram. For this post, I will talk about the one on the farthest left.
This is Dianna. Since I did a thorough review of Julep in Renee, I will base this on that.
Here's a closer look at the color and it's very true. The website describes the color as "mint green creme." I definitely agree it's a mint color, but I think it's more on the blue side than green.
Here's a closer look at the brush. The width is comparable to OPI which I consider as medium. It's not too wide and not too thin.
I applied Orly Calcium Shield Basecoat, 2 coats of Julep in Dianna, and then topped it off with Butter London Hardwear P.D. Quick Topcoat.

Now for my overall opinion... First of all, the consistency is a little bit thick. It's not completely thick you cannot work with, but you can feel the thickness while applying the nail polish. Is it just me but I've noticed all mint polishes and it doesn't matter what brand they are it's thick in consistency? Secondly, there are mint polishes that are on the green side but I find this more on the blue. I also don't think this is unique in color. There's so many mint polishes from every brand ranging from light green, green, light blue, to blue. If you own a mint polish that's more towards blue, I say you can pass on this. Lastly, the lasting power is 4 days before I noticed slight chipping on the tip.

Would repurchase: No.

It's a pretty shade of mint green. I won 2 julep polishes but have yet to try them. They always have pretty shades.

I love the Julep shades, but they just don't work for me. They will start cracking all over my nail, no matter the base or top coat. But then again, it could just be the chemistry of my nail and the polish not getting along.

Omg!! My collection of julep shades is ridiculous. I love them. I will say that come do come a little thicker than I like. But I can work with it, thin it down.

Oh wow, congratulations! I think you will like the brand. :)

I wonder if you have a lot of oil on your nail beads before polishing. Have you tried wiping your nails with alcohol before applying nail polish?

I saw your recent Instagram picture and you did order a lot of Julep polishes. They are great and you know how to work them on your nails! :)

I do have a lot of oil, so i wipe with acetone before I polish. Its just the Julep ones that about a day in, the entire surface is crackled, all the way down to the cuticle. Its the strangest thing!

Thank you! I try and work with what I have (long nail beds and a massive nail polish collection)! And I recently received the OXYGEN base coat! I am completely infatuated with this base coat!!

Wow! I have never heard of this. I find people's experience with polishes interesting. My friend can wear OPI for 2 weeks with hardly any chips. I have never experienced that myself... lol~

Oh, is Oxygen base coat that good!?!? Now I'm intrigued, mind of a messed up beauty-holic... lol~ How many polishes do you own?

The Oxygen base coat is freaken fantastic. When it dries it will turn matte and the slight white. Which I love, because I feel that it gives my nails an extra pop. Yep I'm in love. LoL. The last time I checked my polishes... I believe I had.... 243.... recently I got the "the Muppets" OPI collection... and that was not very easy to acquire. But so worth it!!! Before that the bf got me the entire Essie spring collection.... I have 3 base coat that I cant be without and an abundance of top coats!

Candy shopping it a lovely way to describe my obscene collection. Lol. I have them sorted by seasons! Haha.

That's actually a good way of sorting them. I sort them by brand then rainbow colors. I sometimes forget I have stuff and then realized it's too dark for this season. Not a good thing... hehe~
