My friend gifted me my very first Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, otherwise known as OCC, nail polish.

Product Review: Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Nail Polish in Rx

Where to purchase: Sephora and online at occmakeup.com
Price: $10 for 0.5 fl oz

Made in N.Y.

Description from the website: A nail lacquer in a professional formulation and modern color-palette. OCC's professional-quality Nail Lacquers are densely pigmented, quick-drying and super long-lasting. Formulated with the editorial manicurist in mind, the result is lots of color using very little product for nails that are camera-ready just moments after application.
Ingredients:
Thoughts: This is my first OCC nail polish and I was excited to try it out!
Here's a closer look at the nail polish. It is true to color with natural light.
Here's a look at the brush. It is medium-width comparable to OPI brushes.
Here's how the nail polish looks on my nails. It's 2 coats of nail polish and topped with Seche Vite Top Coat. On my ring finger is 2 coats of nail polish, 1 coat of Zoya nail polish in Maria Luisa, and topped with Seche Vite Top Coat.

Now for my overall opinion... First of all, this nail polish is extremely opaque. You can go with one coat of nail polish if you like but I still did two. Secondly, the consistency of the product is between medium to thick. I wouldn't say it's so thick you cannot work with it, but you have to be quick in application and not go over what you just painted. In all honesty, it was kind of hard to paint my nails in the beginning. After couple of strokes, it was easy. This is one of those with application, you will improve with practice. Now for a warning, be careful where you paint this nail polish. As well as, be careful how you remove this polish. If you paint/remove and it touches your skin, it will stain for several hours to a day. I don't know if I ever seen this or maybe I have. I found it interesting. Lastly, the staying power isn't that strong. My nails started chipping in 3 days. It wasn't small chips. If I used my nails to open something, I had to be careful.

Pros:
* Medium-width brush.
* Medium to thick consistency.
* Really opaque.
* One coat is good.
* Applies smoothly.
* No streaking and bubbles.

Cons:
* Medium to thick consistency.
* Cannot go over what you painted.
* Stains skin for several hours to a day.
* Lasted 3 days before chipping.

Would repurchase: No.
Rating:  3/5 Tobey's Paws

Love how you accentuate your ring finger with the silver glitter. I usually prefer thicker consistency nail polish, but this one sounds really hard to work with! So heavy duty that it stains the skin!

i also love the accent on the ring finger!
to be fair, all blue nail polishes stain in my experience..which is the reason i can't wear them as often although i love blue nails. :)

Does it look like silver glitter? It's gold. :/ How come you like thick consistency nail polish? I have never met anyone who like thick consistency. I'm curious!

Now I'm curious if blue nail polishes stain my nails other than this one. I have never noticed except this.

I prefer to apply one coat rather than multiple. I find that watery consistencies are quick at drying, however, I don't get the desired opacity. Does that make sense? Hehe

Yes, you make a lot of sense. Thank you! :)
