Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick

Please don't forget to enter Aveeno "On the Fly Fix-Up" Giveaway. It ends November 4, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. EST (Eastern time).

When I went to Ulta last weekend, I saw the new stand for the Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick. I knew I had to get one and try it out myself.
Product Review: Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick in #020 Front Row

Where to purchase: drugstores, mass merchandiser, Ulta, and online
Price: $7.99 for 0.09 oz/ 2.55 g

Made in USA

Ingredients:

Thoughts: One thing bad about being a blogger is that I'm always intrigued by new products that come out. This product is no exception! I was drawn to the stand, as well as, curious about the product. I knew I had to at least try one for myself.
The color of the packaging reminds me of other Revlon lip products like the Lip Butters and Kissable Balm Stains. Basically, they try to match the packaging to the color of the lip product. It also reminds me of Wet 'n Wild Lipsticks except the whole packaging isn't black.

No matter how much I want to pull off medium to dark colors, I wanted to be safe and bought a light colored one.
I got #020 in Front Row.
Here's a close up of the lip color. I hope you can see it! It's a light peachy-pink color. The color is pretty and great for spring to summer color.
Here's a swatch of the lip product. It's a little sheerer than expected, but you can apply a heavier coat.
Here's how the lipstick looks on me. Now for my opinion...

I don't know where to start. I guess I'll start with the packaging. I actually like the packaging! It reminds me of Wet 'n Wild Lipsticks except it doesn't look cheap. :X The top isn't loose, as well as, the plastic feels sturdy. I also like that they fit with the Revlon theme, the lip color matching the packaging. It's nice knowing which color lip product you are choosing from your stack of lip products. You don't have to look for the name of the lip product. You already know which one you're looking for! I know this sounds foolish but I also like the clicking noise as you twist the product. Some people might find it annoying and I can see why, but I like how unique that is.

The product smells like vanilla to me. I'm not a fan of vanilla, but you don't notice it while applying. I only noticed it when I took a good sniff of the lip product.

Now for the product itself...

It's on the sheer side. Not completely sheer, but average pigmentation. Of course, you can build color with each application. If I knew that, I would have chosen a darker color especially with this fall/winter weather. I wish I grabbed a berry color.

The lip product is on the shiny side, as well as, the swatch and initial application. As time goes on, it dries down to semi-matte to matte depending on your lip texture. If you have dry lips like myself, it dries to matte and shows all the beautiful lines I have on my lips. Again it depends on the person, but the lines started showing within thirty minutes to an hour. I tried it without pre-moisturizing, lip balm, and moisturizing. They both showed up within thirty to an hour. If you can tell, I was disappointed since the stand said "Instantly Moisturizing." It definitely did not moisturize my lips!

I'm not too sure where the "suede" part comes from since I have not seen any commercial for this product yet. I would think it's the application and I do have to agree on the word "suede". The product applies smoothly like butter. It does feel like you're applying Revlon Lip Butters.

The stand also said it lasts up to 16 hours. If a product ever exist that last that long, it's a miracle! I would say it lasted at least 5 hours which is good by itself. I also noticed stain on cups while drinking.

Pros:
* Revlon; brand I trust.
* Sturdy packaging.
* Packaging matching the lip color.
* Clicking noise as you twist.
* Not a strong scent.
* Smooth application like suede.
* Lasts a long time, 5 hours.

Cons:
* On the sheer side, average pigmentation.
* Does not moisturize.
* Dry out your lips.
* Show fine lines from your lips.

Would repurchase: No.
Rating:  2.5/5 Tobey's Paws

This is NOTW I did some time ago. I think a month or two ago.
I applied two coats of Orly nail polish in Frisky.
On my ring finger, I apply one coat of L.A. Girl nail polish in Nostalgic on top of the Orly.
Then I finished the ring finger with Wet 'n Wild in Mermaid Curves.

Aveeno "On the Fly Fix-Up" Giveaway

Aveeno has offered me an opportunity to host a wonderful giveaway, "On the Fly Fix-Up", on my blog. Not only that, they are not only going to give one but three prizes to my readers. Before I talk about how to enter, let me tell you about the giveaway. If you're like me, you're wondering what is the title referring to.

"After a day on the job, the idea of heading out for a night of fun might be a bit daunting - especially if you aren't sure how to start freshening up your look. Make the transition from day to night as easy as 1,2,3 with some products from the AVEENO® Arsenal."

I took this from the e-mail. I thought they explained it a lot better than I could ever have.
1. Pure Renewal Dry Shampoo: "Starting with your locks - they might be in need of a little TLC or life after a day of work. The Aveeno Pure Renewal Dry Shampoo rejuvenates locks removes excess oil and impurities to help boost volume."

This is a great product in-between washes, as well as, times you are in a hurry and cannot take a shower/bath. This get rids of oil and add volume.
2. Ultra-Calming Makeup Removing Wipes: "To put your best face forward, refresh your skin with the Ultra-Calming Makeup Removing Wipes. These gentle wipes soothe and cleanse, removing dirt, oil, makeup and even mascara - powered by ACTIVE NATURALS Feverfew, they help leave sensitive skin feeling balanced."

I already reviewed these wipes. They clean your face and it's great for times when you do not have time to wash up before before.
3. Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer: "After you rejuvenate the skin, apply the Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer (in light and medium) with ACTIVE NATURALS Total Soy Complex to blend away imperfections. In fact, these tinted moisturizers are formulated with natural light-reflecting minerals that immediately enhance skin's natural radiance."

Not only does it enhance your skin, it protects with SPF.

Prizes: Three readers will win "On the Fly Fix-Up" giveaway prize of Pure Renewal Dry Shampoo, Ultra-Calming Makeup Removing Wipes, and Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer.

b.liv Mask in Repair & Rescue

This is my second sheet mask review from b.liv. The first one I reviewed Bright Is Right. I highly recommend Bright Is Right. I saw great improvements. :)

Where to purchase: cellnique.com/bliv
Price: $15 for a box (7 pieces)

Made in Singapore

Description from the back: Repair & Rescue smuggles signs of cell regeneration into the skin's deepest layers - intensively healing impaired or damaged skin, while boosting skin renewal and cell functioning - giving it a leg-up in rejuvenation and hydration. Its smoothing ingredients's sing all irritations and sensitiveness to sleep - ensuring that soft, smooth and healthy skin is yours to keep!
Ingredients:
Key Active Ingredients:
Thoughts: To be honest, I might have gone into with high expectations because I had a great experience with the first b.liv sheet mask (Bright Is Right). Before I talk more about Repair & Rescue, let's talk about the packaging.
It's a simple peachy coral and white packaging. I actually like the color of this sheet mask. It's pretty!
All the sheet masks have the expiration date on the back located on the top. I like how it has expiration date on individual sheet masks. I have a tendency to throw the boxes away and put them in a container. It's good for people like myself.
Here's how the sheet mask looks on myself. In all honesty, the mask is actually Bright Is Right. Repair & Rescue looks the same. They have the same quality when it comes to size (height and width), sheerness, and texture. The only difference is the quality of what it does to the skin.

The mask is wider than most sheet masks I have tried, but you can work with it. It's better that it's bigger than smaller. I also noticed the mask is thin and very sheer when you put it on. Even though it's thin, it does not rip. It's a sturdy mask.

Now for my overall opinion, I actually like Bright Is Right better. For some reason, my skin tingled a bit with this sheet mask. I'm not too sure why, but it might be a mixture of products I was trying. If that's the case, then it's my skin not the mask. The only thing I found odd is that knowing this sheet mask soothes irritated skin. It didn't with me. I also noticed my skin was drier after an hour or two. More so in the morning. I realized with this sheet mask, I had to hydrate after using it. Other than that, I did notice plumpness and clearer skin. My skin glowed.

Pros:
* Comes in a variety that you can choose.
* Simple, pretty packaging.
* Expiration date on individual masks.
* Key ingredients to reduce irritation and protect skin against environment stresses.
* Lots of serum; apply to neck and chest.
* Dimension of the mask is wide, but you can work with it.
* Sturdy mask.
* Skin looks glowy, clearer, and plumpness.

Cons:
* Hard to find in stores; have to order online.
* Had some tingling sensation.
* Dried my skin; need hydration.

Would repurchase: Yes, but not this one.

Los Angeles Korean Festival 2012

Sorry I haven't blogged in awhile! The last couple of weeks has been crazy with my dad's birthday (family get together) and his birthday trip to Korea (helped him prepare for the trip). He left Thursday and it gave me the weekend to rest. It was really nice just staying in my pj's and not doing anything! :)

Last weekend, Los Angeles had their annual Korean Festival. I've been going almost every year since I can recall. The last time I blogged about the event was in 2010. You can check out my post if you like. I went last year as well, but I didn't stay long. The people I went with wanted to leave. I made sure I went this year with someone who has similar interest as myself. I had fun that we made it a weekend thing, we went both Saturday and Sunday. Since I had so much fun, I forgot to take pictures of the event and the food I ate. Sorry! Just imagine tons of booths from eating, selling, to crafts. I'm going to post the things I got.

Saturday, October 6:
I can't remember which booth we got the fan from. The seller saw us fanning our face with paper, and told us they have a better fan than paper. They gave us this wooden fan. I like the design and the concept of the fan, but in all honesty I wouldn't pay money for this. The quality isn't that great.
Then we went to the lotus blossom booth, and I made the pink one (right one). My friend is into crafts just like myself. We wanted to make more, but they told us we can only make one. Then the monk offered us papers if we volunteer. We ended up volunteering for couple of hours to get papers (we got green, pink, red, orange, and yellow), as well as, made the purple and flower during the time. They were kind enough they even gave us lunch.
I added the pink and purple lotus blossoms with the white one I made in 2010. It's actually hanging from my ceiling. I actually might throw the white and make a new one with the papers we got. I'm thinking yellow. What do you think?
There even had a booth from Pechanga Casino. I got a free fan (I took to work because there has been two days this summer where the a/c broke) and a key chain lighter. I'm pretty impressed with the lighter. It's extremely bright!
Then we went to Verizon booth and spun the wheel. I got a cup and pen. The pen will go to good use since I lose pens often in my purse.
I got baby samples even though I don't have babies. I'll use it on myself.
Then at the udon booth, I spun and won myself two udons. I wanted the grand prize because they had cute chopsticks with the two udons.
At the children's section, I made a topper and flower. The flower will come in handy. I can make it my next project.
The Hanmi Bank was giving out wet wipes. I put it in my bag and pull them out whenever I need one. Also if you play their baseball game, they give away a prize. You get a choice of baseball, blue, or pink pig. I wanted the blue piggie, but they ran out. They only had the pink one, but I'm still happy.
Then we got our free clay the professional made that day. The hardest part was carrying this around while it was still wet!
I picked this one because of the heart shaped top.

Sunday, October 7:
We went back Sunday for this tote. We wanted to make one on Saturday, but they closed early. You get to paint your own tote but unfortunately, it was a different design.

Other than getting the tote, we ate as well. I wished I took pictures. I need to be better. My bad!
