Misikko Dream Gift Package Giveaway

Please don't forget to enter my Senna Brow Shaper Duo Giveaway. It ends June 30, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. EST (Eastern time).

I reviewed Hana Elite 1" Flat Iron long time ago that I received from Misikko. Wow, it's been over 2 years. Time sure flies! It feels like I just reviewed it. I still use my Hana Elite Flat Iron to this day, and I have to say it's my favorite flat iron so far. It out beats my previous one from Costco! I honestly recommend if you need a good flat iron, to get Hana Elite.

When I saw/heard about Misikko Dream Gift Package Giveway, it's posted on their Facebook page, I knew I had to enter! I've been wanting a curling iron for the longest time so this gives me a chance to own one. If I don't win one, it's okay. Maybe one of my readers who have a blog will win something! :)
All you have to do is create a blog post of your Dream Gift Package up to $350 worth of products from Misikko. Then post the link on Misikko's Facebook page by July 4th. Misikko will pick the three best entries and give them their Dream Gift Package. How nice of them!

Now for my entry...

Corioliss Tri Curl Curling Iron:
Like I said, I've been wanting a curling iron. Not any ordinary curling iron, but a curling iron that is without a clip. I heard from friends and family they are easier to use. What attracted me to this curling iron is that it comes with three different barrel sizes, as well as, the tourmaline infused ceramic barrel. I know it will leave my hair soft and silky, at the same time, I can get different tightness of curls.

Hana Styling Iron Cleaner:
I need a cleaner for my flat iron and curling irons. I want to keep my irons in good shape and this will prevent it from getting ruined.

Moroccan Oil Hair Treatment:
As a beauty blogger, I've been hearing great things about this product. This will give me a chance to see what their talking about. Best of all from the description, it's a long term conditioning. I definitely need that for my damaged hair.

Moroccan Oil Restorative Gift Set:
This gift set is a top seller and for that reason, I had to read the reviews. The reviews sold me! It's suppose to improved dry and damaged hair. I definitely need that for my wrinkly, damaged hairs.

Good luck to the people who enter the giveaway!!! :)

Inglot Eyeshadow Palette

Please don't forget to enter my Senna Brow Shaper Duo Giveaway. It ends June 30, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. EST (Eastern time).

This is my second and final product I bought from Inglot at The Makeup Show.
Here's a picture of my haul just to refresh your memory if you have been reading my blog for some time. I already reviewed Inglot AMC Lip Paint. It's the box on the upper left hand corner. I highly recommend that lip gloss/paint!!! It is extremely pigmented, gorgeous, shiny, and it smells great! :) Now I'm going to review the rest of the products in that picture.

The big box is the empty palette.
There are different versions of the empty palettes. I got the Freedom System Palette 10 Eye Shadow Square. On the website it says it costs $16 for this palette. I bought the kit at The Makeup Show which is the palette plus 10 eyeshadows of your choices for $50.
The palette comes with a removable lid. At first, I found it inconvenient. Why would anyone want a removable lid that's what I asked myself. Now I actually like it! Since the palette is so flat (bottom part) and when you put it on a counter, it's hard to grab. I had to slide it off the counter whenever I grabbed the bottom part of the palette. Who has the time to do that when you're applying eyeshadows. :/ For that reason I would put the lid on the counter and the bottom part on top of it. It made it a lot easily to grab the bottom part! ;)

It also comes with magnets on all four corners. Let me tell you how extremely strong the magnets are! It is hard to just grab the lid and pull it up. You have to slide one side sideways and then pull it up. It's a good thing that the magnets are strong. If you take this as a travel palette, you do not have to worry about the lid coming off and ruining your eyeshadows.
Here's the bottom part of the palette.

Product Review: Freedom System Eye Shadow Square

Where to purchase: stores that sell Inglot and inglotusa.com
Price: $6 for 2.3 to 3.5 g/ 0.8 to 0.11 oz

Made in Poland

Thoughts: I first heard of Inglot through beauty blogs. It really intrigued me and for that reason, I've been wanting to try their products. Unfortunately, there wasn't a store near me and I was against buying products I have never seen in person. If I've seen them in person and liked what I saw, then I'll be up for buying them online. Since I've never seen or even tested it out, I had no idea except the brand really intrigued me. When I heard they would be at The Makeup Show, I was stoked! That's the first booth I went as soon as I entered the convention.
They sell individual eyeshadows that you get to choose the ones you want. Each one comes in a package you take out to put into the palette. Here's a picture of one of the eyeshadows I got.
Here's how my eyeshadows palette look in natural light. Each slot of the palette has a magnetic that holds onto the eyeshadow pan. I think it's cool compared to other brands where you have to put magnetic onto the bottom of the eyeshadow pan to fit into the palette. You don't need to do an extra step here. I also think it's cool you can use the magnetic on the lid to grab onto the eyeshadow pans to take them out of the palette.
This is the first row. The colors from left to right are Shine 30, Shine 11, Shine 31, Shine 15, and Matte 344.
This is the second row. The colors from left to right are D.S. 465, D.S. 459, Pearl 422, Shine 37, and Pearl 423.

I'm sure you can tell most of the are on the neutral family. I wanted to buy eyeshadows I know I will wear often; gold and brown family, and the only colors I do wear often are orange and greens. Of course, you don't have to buy the ones I bought. The eyeshadows are extremely pigmented, easy to apply, and soft to the touch. I also love that after putting your brushes into the eyeshadows, they aren't any loose powders. I love how compacted the eyeshadows are, but at the same time, soft.

Here's three looks I did with the eyeshadows.
Look #1:

It's the same look with flash. I wanted to show you how it looks through flash. I think it came out gorgeous in flash! I used three eyeshadows from the palette.
Look #2:
I used two eyeshadows from the palette.
Look #3:
I only used one eyeshadow from the palette. Sorry the pictures did not come out that great! Either the camer got worst or I need to practice taking pictures. :X This looked better in person than the picture in my opinion.

I've been using this eyeshadow palette for the last two months. I love the quality and how long lasting they are!

Pros:
* Magnetic palette; just pop in the eyeshadow pans.
* Choose your own eyeshadows.
* Comes in a variety of colors and types (shine, matte, pearl, and so on).
* Pigmented.
* Soft.
* No loose powders.

Cons:
* Hard to find stores.

Would repurchase: Yes!
Rating:  4.5/5 Tobey's Paws

I didn't realize I still had this picture. It's the first and so far the last bag I bought this year.
I bought it from Coach.

Senna Double Brow Brush

Please don't forget to enter my Senna Brow Shaper Duo Giveaway. It ends June 30, 2012 at 11:50 p.m. EST (Eastern time).

This is continuation to Senna Brow Shaper Duo.
I'm going to review the Senna Double Brow Brush that I received from The Makeup Show at their Blogger Preview Event.
Product Review: Senna Double Brow Brush

Where to purchase: Senna studios and online at sennacosmetics.com
Price: $20

Made in Korea

Description from site: This multi tasking brow tool is all you need to groom brow hairs, then apply and blend brow colors. 6" long.
Thoughts: When I received the Senna Brow Shaper Duo, I was extremely excited! I've been wanting to try an eyebrow that came with wax. Then I realized I needed a brush and thankfully, they gave us one. To be honest, my excitement on the brush was not as thrilled as the eyebrow kit. I'm not the biggest fan of double ended brushes. The reason is because I store my brushes in a cup. When I have a double ended brush, one end (usually the one inside the cup) usually gets ruined.

Let's talk about the packaging. I love their cute logo! It's a cute female clown I believe. I also love the color of the handle, blue.
On the other side of the handle, it says "Brow 1". I'm not too sure why. :/

Now for the brush...
The hair is extremely soft and it did not shed during washing. It's also not firm. Most brushes that are not firm from my experience, the hairs tend to split easily and fall out of shape. I've washed this brush several times and it's still in it's shape. It definitely does not split! It's actually a pretty good quality hair. I also love how lightly you can use the brush and the quality on my eyebrow is pretty impressive. It comes out dark even with light strokes. I also love that I can dip it into the wax, and the quality of the hair (brush not my eyebrow) does not change. It's a great versatile brush. It can be used dry or wet from the wax.
The other end is the wand to shape the eyebrow hairs after applying the wax. Since the wand hair has thick set of hairs, it shapes the eyebrow hair really well.

Since I've been putting the wand end of the brush in the cup, I'm actually pretty impressed it has gotten ruined. My opinions on double ended brush has changed a bit. I don't mind this one, but I still wouldn't want double ended brushes with both ends being hairs.

Pros:
* Simple packaging.
* Cute logo.
* Blue handle.
* Good quality hair.
* Soft hairs.
* Does not shed.
* Does not split.
* Need soft strokes.
* Firm/thick wand.

Cons:
* Hard to find in stores.
* Double ended brush.

Would repurchase: Yes.

Victoria's Secret Semi-Annual Sale

Please don't forget to enter my Senna Brow Shaper Duo Giveaway. It ends June 30, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. EST (Eastern time).

Even though my readers are not male, I want to wish you a Happy Father's Day!!! Go celebrate and show your love to your father. :)

On Tuesday, June 12th, Victoria's Secret started their semi-annual sale in stores. They have it twice a year in January and June I believe. It's always best to check it out the first day. It sells out quickly.
These are some of the things I bought. Yeah, it's not everything I bought. :X The other stuff are gifts.
I bought Mega Makeup Kit. They have 90 must-haves for lips, eyes, and face (64 eyeshadows, 8 lipsticks, 8 lipglosses, 3 blushes, 2 bronzers, 1 luminous powder, and 4 brushes). The packaging comes in black and silver. I bought the silver.
When you open the lid, it's the first layer of eyeshadows. They also have a mirror.
You pull the first layer to the sides and you see another layer of eyeshadows.
The layer after the eyeshadows are lipsticks and lipglosses. The final layer is blushes and brushes. I was not able to swatch the lip products and blushes, but the eyeshadows are extremely pigmented. I wasn't expecting that! I also love that the lip products are in their own layer. I hate when it's with the eyeshadows/blushes. The powder will fall into the lip products, and it just doesn't feel so clean. It might just be me though. :P The only bad thing is that once you apply the lip products, you cannot reapply unless you carry the whole heavy kit with you.
I bought another eyeshadow palette. I wasn't planning on buying it until the salesperson swatched the eyeshadows on me. I fell in love with the five colors on the left not including the purple.
I was extremely lucky with these blushes! I found the last three blushes and luckily they were different colors. I'm not too sure if I'm going to keep one or two, but I will have at least one as a giveaway. I just hope you guys will like them. :)
Finally, the lipstick. I actually was not going to buy this until I swatched it. It was gorgeous on my hands! :)

Aveeno Pure Renewal 2-In-1 Shampoo & Conditioner

Please don't forget to enter my Senna Brow Shaper Duo Giveaway. It ends June 30, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. EST (Eastern time).

I usually don't review shampoos and conditioners, because I feel that I'm not experienced when it comes to hair products. Then I realized nobody needs to be experienced in something we use in daily basis, shampoo & conditioners. It's all about what you think at the end. :)
Product Review: Aveeno Pure Renewal 2-In-1 Shampoo & Conditioner

Safe for color-treated hair.
Thoughts: I've used 2-In-1 products in the past, and I did not have the greatest experienced. I love the concept that you only need to use one product instead of two, shampoo and conditioner, but it dried my hair out. Not only was my hair dried, it was extremely frizzy. For that reason, I was not excited to try this product out but I was hopeful!

Before I review this product, let me describe my hair. I have long, half-way down my hair that's also thick. I have extremely thick strands but not that much hair. I never considered my hair that dry, at the same time, not that oily. It takes a good 4-5 days before I start showing oil on my roots. During the summer, my hair will get oilier like in 2 days.

Now that you know about my hair, it's time for the product. I actually like the packaging. I love how neutral the packaging is with a pop of color, green. It's refreshing and in my opinion, it stands out. I also love how easy you can squeeze the bottle. It makes it easy to squeeze the remaining product in the end. I've experienced in the past with bottles that are hard, you cannot get the ending product unless you leave it upside down for a good amount.
I'm hoping you can see the product in the middle of the lid. It's a creamy, metallic looking product. When I first saw the product, it reminded me of the shampoos and conditioners at hotels. I guess shampoos and conditioners cannot be that different. I also love that the lid is heavy duty and firm! I know if I take this with me travelling, it will not spill in my bag.

It smells heavenly! It's fresh and sweet. I'm guessing it's suppose to smell like a plant, seaweed, but it doesn't to me. It smells more fruity, but I cannot pinpoint the smell. I just like it. :)

Since I've been using this for couple of months, I have mixed feelings. I love that you only need to wash your hair once with this product instead of two products; shampoo and conditioner. It saves time and the amount of product you need to use. I also love that it's sulfate-free without the use of parabens or synthetic dyes. It tells me this is safe, natural, gentle, and just plain good. I think it's comparable to products on the high-end side like Wen.

When I first started using this product, I noticed it did not dry out my hair. I was pretty impressed, but as time went on I noticed I needed conditioner. I realized it wasn't the product but more on my hair. On days my hair is drier than usual, I needed conditioner. When it's neutral, I was fine without a conditioner. I definitely recommend this product for people living in a humid area or during the hot summer weather. During winter when the hair is drier than usual, I do not recommend this product unless you have oily hair.

Overall, it did not weigh my heavy hair down. It felt light and took a good 3-4 days before I saw oiliness in my root with or without using a conditioner afterwards.

Pros:
* Aveeno; brand that uses natural ingredients.
* Attractive packaging; neutral with pop of green.
* Squeeze-able bottle.
* Firm lid.
* Travel friendly.
* Heavenly scent.
* Two products in one.
* Sulfate-free.
* Parabens-free and no synthetic dyes.
* Light weight.
* Does not weigh hair down.

Cons:
* Sometimes need conditioner depending on my hair.

Would repurchase: Probably not since I need to use conditioner at times.
