Aveeno Positively Nourishing Calming Body Lotion

This is the second of the Positively Nourishing Body Lotion from Aveeno. I already reviewed the first one, Aveeno Positively Nourishing Energizing Body Lotion.
Product Review: Aveeno Positively Nourishing Calming Body Lotion

Where to purchase: drugstores, mass merchandiser, or online at aveeno.com
Price: $5.99-$6.99 for 7 oz/ 198 g

Made in Canada

Description on the back: This luxurious body lotion with lavender and chamomile envelops your skin in lasting moisture while its relaxing scent soothes your senses.

Powered with ACTIVE NATURALS Colloidal Oatmeal, the natural ingredient most recommended by dermatologist to maintain healthy looking skin.
Ingredients:
Thoughts: Since I had such great experience with the Aveeno Positively Nourishing Energizing Body Lotion, I was hoping for the same. It did not let me down! The only thing I was not keen on was the scent. As time went on, I actually did not mind the scent. Don't get me wrong I still like the Energizing better, but the scent was fine after awhile. I cannot distinguish if lavender or chamomile was stronger. Since I'm not a floral person, I don't know my scents. :X
The consistency of the lotion is semi-thick. It looks thick in the picture, but it's a lot creamier than you think. When applying the lotion, it's smooth and melts in your skin. It kind of reminds me of The Body Shop Body Butter. I like that it's not extremely thick that it's hard to spread on your skin. If you have extremely dry skin, it will take couple usage before it moisturizes your skin. If you're semi-dry, I think this lotion is perfect!
One thing I like about the body lotion is that it comes in a tube! I like the concept knowing it's sanitary safe and the germs cannot go into the lotion. I also like that you can carry this tube around without worrying it will burst in your bag for example. I hate traveling and putting the products in a Zip Lock bag fearing it will burst. I don't have to do that with this lotion. The lid is very sturdy and it is impossible for it to open.

Pros:
* Aveeno; brand that uses natural ingredients.
* Comes in a tube; sanitary safe.
* Easy to carry.
* Lid does not easily open.
* No fear of it bursting.
* Creamy consistency.
* Semi-thick.
* Melts like butter.
* Moisturizes semi-dry skin.

Cons:
* Floral scent.

Would repurchase: Yes, but probably in the other scent.
Rating:  4/5 Tobey's Paws

Adore Me Lingerie in Hannah

This is my second time reviewing a lingerie from Adore Me. If you don't know what Adore Me is, it's a monthly lingerie club that comes to your door. Every month they have a showroom with a list of lingerie chosen for you. You do not have to buy if you do not want to. It is up to you when you want to get something you like. If you want to know more about Adore Me, check out my introductory post or the website. It has thorough information about the club. You can also check out my thorough post on how to get started on Adore Me from the quiz to an example of a showroom, mine of course.

I was fortunate to receive another lingerie to review. You can read my first lingerie review. I was given a choice of different lingerie, and the one I wanted was for plus size women. Unfortunately, it was too big for me so I went with my second choice. The sad thing is it's the same style as my first lingerie review. The only difference is it's in white! :)
Before I review the lingerie, let me tell you how it was delivered. It comes in a big envelope-style package. Inside the envelope, there's a box.
They have upgraded since my last review. The first time I received the package it only came in the white box, and it was dented. They got smart and put a cardboard around the box. I think it's a genius idea since it keeps the shape of the white box. I guess in some ways it doesn't matter since it's what is in the box that's important. ;)
Here's how the white box looks without the cardboard. I love how simple the box is with a pink Adore Me logo.
This is the inside of the box. I love how the pink tissue paper matches the Adore Me logo.

Now for my review of the lingerie...
What can I say other than it's really well made! My mother used to be a seamstress so growing up I knew what to look for. They did a great job on the sewing. I don't see any particular loose thread, threads sticking out, and even the double stitches are close to each other.
The cloth of the lingerie is stretchable, smooth, and well sewn on the pad. The touch of the lace on top matches well with the bra.
I also love the touch of the ribbon in the middle of the bra! It adds a little femininity and cuteness.
Here's how the padded bra looks in the inside. The added bumps pushes and makes it look more fuller.
It also comes with three columns to attach your bra. A lot of bras only come with two, and I like that it comes with three. It's more secure, and you know it might not come off.
Now for the pantie, it's the same fabric as the bra. It's stretchable, well made, and cute!
It has a matching lace and ribbon which I find adorable. :)
I wanted to show the sheerness of the pantie. It's not extremely see through, but it does not fully cover up.

Since I have both white and pink of Hannah, I cannot choose which one I like better. I like both. The white is more classic looking and the pink is more cute. I honestly suggest people to check out Adore Me. They have great quality products and the shipping is extremely fast! I believe my shipment came in 5 days!

Thank you Adore Me!!! :)

Physicians Formula pH Matchmaker Blush and ShopBop Winner

Sorry I did not post this week! My oldest brother and his kids, my nieces, came to visit this week. It was a last minute decision. Whenever they come to visit, I lose my computer. :/ Now I'm back and hopefully, for good. :)

I've been wanting to review this blush for the longest time, and I think it's finally time too!

Where to purchase: drugstores, mass merchandiser, and online at physiciansformula.com
Price: $12.95 for 0.21 oz/ 6g

Made in USA

Description on the back:

-Fluorescein Based Dye - senses the pH level of your skin & adjusts within 60 sections to created your perfect blushing glow.

Look Your Best in Every Light!
* LED-powered compact lights up and features a full-size mirror, for touch-ups anywhere & everywhere!
Ingredients:
Thoughts: To be honest, I only bought this blush for the idea that the blush matches to your pH level. I know it's a foolish idea to get a blush, but the concept really drew me in. :X I guess I'm a sucker when it comes to cosmetics. Anyways, now to my thoughts.

For the packaging, it's kind of bulky. It's just a square package with different levels.
Here's how the top looks. It's a shiny, black square with pink logo. The only thing I don't like about the packaging is that I can see my fingerprints easily.
The next level is the blush with the mirror. It's a pink, powdered blush with silver dots around the blush. The silver dots give shimmery specks to the blush. Once you use it all, it's just a pink blush.
That same level has a light that you can turn on. The switch is right above the right light. You can compare the picture above to the one exactly above it. Do you see the light on and off? I hope you can!
The last level has the brush.

Since the packaging is kind of bulky and for another reason, I leave mine at home. I hardly carry mine. I got a loose blush pan in mine. I'm kind of scared to carry mine and have the blush crack. For that reason, I don't carry mine anywhere even when I travel. Once I finish the blush, I might actually carry the container. I think the light will come in handy especially at nights or when you're in a dark room.
I usually don't like the brushes the blushes come with, but this is actually pretty okay. It's pretty soft and does not shed. I did noticed some of the hairs go in different directions, but not many. Even though it's soft, I'll still will not use it. I like the round type of brushes for blushes.
Here's how the blush looks in natural light.
A swatch of the blush on my hand. I don't know if you can see the specks of silver especially on the top from the silver dots.

The main concept of this blush is that it "reacts to light and your pH for your perfect blushing glow" within 60 seconds. Well in my opinion, I don't think it does. Even though I don't notice any changes on the blush as soon as I apply it, I still like the color! It's a natural, gorgeous color and it lasts a decent amount of day.

Pros:
* Physicians Formula; I think they have great products for drugstores.
* Comes with light with a switch.
* Comes with a decent brush; soft.
* Natural looking color.
* Long lasting.

Cons:
* Bulky.
* Mine came with a loose blush pan.
* Compact grabs fingerprints easily.
* Blush does not match to your pH level or light.

Would repurchase: Maybe.

I went out of town to Palm Springs with bunch of girls couple of weeks ago. One of the girls did my nails.
I took a picture of my nails once I got home. I received so many compliments! People asked me if they were stickers, and I told them someone painted them. So many people were amazed and thought it was gorgeous.

Thank you April!!! :)

Please don't forget to enter my $100 Gift Certificate to Shopbop. It ends April 8, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. PST (Pacific time).

Sorry I have not blogged in awhile! I've been away the last two weekends which made it tough to blogged. Now I'm back and I will try my best to blog more often. :)

I've been using a mixture of many Aveeno body lotions the last several months. I think it's time to review one of them.
Product Review: Aveeno Positively Nourishing Energizing Body Lotion

Where to purchase: drugstores, mass merchandisers, or online at aveeno.com
Price: $5.99-6.99 for 7 oz/ 198 g

Made in Canada

Description on the back: This luxurious body lotion with grapefruit and pomegranate envelops your skin in lasting moisture, while the energizing citrus scent invigorates your sense.

Powered with ACTIVE NATURALS Colloidal Oatmeal, the natural ingredient moist recommended by dermatologist to maintain healthy looking skin.
Ingredients:
Thoughts: Out of the three body lotion I received, I was most excited to try this one because it was a fruity scent! If you don't know me, I tend to go for fruity smell over any other smell like floral. It just smells better or at least to me. :) With this lotion, I smell grapefruit more so than the pomegranate. I hardly smell pomegranate. It has a very sour smell to this lotion. I tend to not like sour taste, but the smell isn't bad at all. I actually like the sour scent! I also agree with the description "the energizing citrus scent invigorates your senses." You can definitely smell the lotion while you're putting it on. I think it's best while you're putting it on after your shower especially in the morning. :)
The consistency of the lotion looks thick, but it's actually a lot more creamier than I thought. If you have really and I mean really dry skin, it'll take couple usage before it moisturizes your skin. If you have semi-dry skin, then this lotion is great! When I first used this lotion, I had really dried skin. The first usage it helped, but I felt some dryness. The second usage my skin was on top shape. This lotion is best after the winter weather to spring weather.
I also like the packaging of the lotion. It makes it easier to carry with you. It came in handy during my weekends out of town! I did not have to worry about it exploding in my baggage.

Pros:
* Aveeno; a brand that uses natural ingredients.
* Convenient to carry.
* Comes in a squeezable tube.
* Lid does not easily flip open.
* Dominant scent is grapefruit.
* Scent invigorates your senses.
* Creamier consistency; semi-thickness.
* Moisturizes semi-dry skin.

Cons:
* Cannot smell pomegranate.

Would repurchase: Yes.
