February Favorites and Finished Products 2011

February felt so short! No wonder there were only 28 days.

February Favorite

Smith's Rosebud Salve: I actually bought this quite a long time ago, end of 2009, in the trio set. I didn't use it because I have so many lip balm products. When it comes to lip balm products, I am pretty good about using one at a time and do not swatch/try the products until it it's turn. Now that I've been trying this, I can see why people like this product. It's very moisturizing and it smells good (rose). It's definitely an improvement compared the the last two lip balms I used (EOS and Victoria's Secret Pink Lip Butter which will be on the Empty Products of the Month). I will review this in the future. It'll probably be the trio set which I don't see the review happening any time soon. :X

Dr. Hunter's Rosewater & Glycerin Hand Creme: This has been a life saver for my dry, bleeding, chapped hands. It has moisten it and healed the bleeding. I reviewed this so please read that. :)

Rock & Republic Blush in Call Me: I'm a huge fan of R&R blushes!!! I have reviewed the blushes so please check that out. The blushes are smooth and pigmented. They also come in a wonderful packaging. The only thing is they're kind on the heavy side but once you apply it, you don't need to reapply or at least from my experience. For that reason, you don't really need to carry the blush with you. Call Me is on a peachy-pink side, check out my swatch. It's kind of similar to Nars Orgasm but more on the pink side. It's very natural looking and gives of a hint of glow. I love it! :)

Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush in Rose: Not only is the packaging gorgeous, it's very pigmented. I only need to apply once and don't have to worry about reapplying. I still think Physicians Formula are underrated in the beauty blogging world. It's such a great quality drugstore product from my experiences. I don't own many but the ones I do, I love them! :) I also reviewed this blush so check that out and the swatch.

Barry M. in Nail Effects: I was blessed to receive this. Thank you Trinh! :) I did a comparison of this shatter/crack nail polish next to OPI in Black Shatter. I love my OPI in Black Shatter but I'm more a fan of Barry M. for the reason I can see the under base color more.

February Finished Products
Le Dekor Moisture Rich Forming Cleanser: This is for normal to dry skin. I have mixed feelings about this cleanser. I love how you only need a little bit and it foams up. I love cleansers that foam up. It just makes me feel like it's doing it's job. It's probably all mentally and I heard it's an Asian mentality to think that way *sigh*. :/ Even though, it's a sample size product this thing lasts a long time because you really only need a pea size. The bad thing about this is after I cleanse my face, the texture of my skin feels different. It feels all dried up but it's not dried up. I know that doesn't make sense but I don't know how to explain it. :X Please read my review.

Would I repurchase: No, because I don't know where they sell this.

Cellnique Derma Brightening Complex: I always make sure I use serum before any moisturizer on my face. I heard serum are suppose to improve your skin but in all honesty, I don't ever notice any improvements. It could be I'm blind or they really don't improve my skin. :X After using the whole product, I didn't notice any improvements. I do notice when I use serum, it's really refreshing to the skin and the moisturizer goes on better. I did review this product and you can only purchase this item at the Cellnique website.

Would I repurchase: Maybe, if they were sold here in the states to give it another try.

Pond's Dry Skin Cream: When I first bought this, it really moisturized my skin. That was last winter. I stopped using for the summer because it was too rich for my skin. That's why I reopened the moisturizer to use it this winter. I don't know if it has to do with the product already opened and used or maybe it got old, but it felt greasy unlike the first time I used it. :/ It also didn't moisturize my skin like last winter. It just didn't feel the same. Who knows maybe my skin got worst and drier *sigh*.

Would I repurchase: Probably not since I have another bottle of this. I bought it during BOGO free sale.

Victoria's Secret Pink Lip Butter: I received free, and thank goodness because I wouldn't purchase it. It's more moisturizing than EOS, but still not that moisturizing. :X I'm not too sure what the scent was. It's suppose to be on the citrus side but it definitely was not to my nose. The best part of this lip balm is that it had a hint of color. It made my lips look more juicer. :D

Would I repurchase: Probably not since they discontinued this product.

Up & Up Makeup Removing Cleansing Towelettes: I'm so glad I finally finished this item. I was kind of disappointed with this purchase because it has a strong, floral scent. It wasn't appealing to my nose. It also was strong and stung my eye area. I'm not too sure why or who knows I might be sensitive in the eye area. I also reviewed this product.

Would I repurchase: No!

I've been loving rosebud salve too but the one I'm using is by CO Bigelow! It's done miracles to my dry lippies :)

Call Me is such a popular color, it's always sold out when they have sales!

Great faves! I use the rosebud salve as a cuticle conditioner and in a hand a treatment I do along with a scrub, it works great! I'm lagging on trying the the R&R blushes, I see them everywhere lately!

i'd love to try Call Me too! but it's hard to get here :(

do you only put serum during nighttime before moisturizer or you also apply serum during daytime skincare routine?

Omg I am so envious of you! I cannot for the life of me find Call Me anywhere (and I live in the US too!). I've seen some sell on Ebay for as high as $60-70 dollars >.<

hey love, i'll have the bbcream review in two weeks, since i want to use it for a full month before i give my opinion :D

and as for the nars sheer glow, its light coverage, but buildable. and doesnt look cakey at all. the wear i would say is 6-8 hours. it basically looks like your skin, but better! hope that helps x

Amanda: I think any R&R blush is hard to find. There's so many I want and I can't find them either. Good luck to both of us on the hunt for these wonderful blushes! :)

Thank you for commenting! :)

LOL at "Would I repurchase: No!" XD I'm actually surprised that you finished it instead of just throwing it out. Ooh, and guess what? I finally bought the Happy Booster blush! Hehe...Rite Aid finally had a BOGO sale on it. ;)

I bought the magazines and the MBD mask set at San Gabriel Square:

Would love the Victoria Secret Lip butter! :D. Only problem, difficult to get in the UK. I can order it but get charged so much for custom duty and import tax that it's ridiculous. So I'm quite jealous about that lol ;)

I got it in "Rose" but haven't tried it out yet! It's too cute...hehe. I will soon though. :P I bought those mags just this past weekend so I think so. However they don't have past issues for every mag they sell. Only the ones they weren't able to sell. If you go, note that there are two bookstores in that plaza. Go to the one by Sam Woo restaurant and not the one by 99 Ranch market. :)

hey sweetie,
in regards to you questions about the wet n wild shadows. i personally think that nutty is more of a brown/taupe color. the one in the silent treatment trio, the taupe color there is really close to satin taupe. would you like me to take pictures of all three and make a comparison post for you?
hope that helps! x

That's awesome that you document products that you use up! I have a lot of half used products that need to be used up!

Oh too bad the lip butter was discontinued! I love the ones from Body Shop too, the shea and brazil nut ones smell sooo good. I tried one (can't remember where it's from) that smelled and tasted of chocolate but was a nude metallic shade. Loved it SO much but don't know where to get it from now :(.

Custom duty and import tax - I don't know how much exactly it is. But when I ordered some things from VS before, the total order was something like £200 and I paid about £70 when it got delivered. Almost half my total order! So ridiculous! After that incident, I didn't order again. This was about 3 years ago, I imagine it would be even more to pay now with tax rises.

I always try to use up one lipbalm before trying another one as well :D. I can see why the PF blush is your fave, it's so pretty!

ryc: so sorry for the late reply, I think the Black Sugar CO should be okay for dry skin since it's not drying out my skin :)

I've heard a lot about Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush in Rose. It looks gorgeous!

I also have that Pond's and I think it's sooo greasy, but I like to use it as a night cream. Strange how it wasn't greasy on you the first time you used it!

Hi!!! It's been so long since I've been back to the blog world! Glad you're still updating your blog! :) I have to get myself a R&R blush!!!

Hey, I use to use those makeup wipes too. They worked great for me but I didn't like that the wipes were so thin. I'm just using Vaseline (for my eyes) and Equate baby wipes (from Walmart) and they both work great!

have a wonderful day!!! :)
