Fish Soup (mae-uen-tang)

I made this soup last week and since we haven't had it for a long time, it was delicious... hehe~

If you need some guidance with the ingredients, you can check my Korean Cooking 101. ;)

Serving: 4-6

Ingredients:
fish
water
1/2 radish
1/2 onion
chopped garlic
2-3 spoonful of red pepper paste
1-2 spoonful of soybean paste
1 garland chrysanthemum
1/2-1 squash
chopped green onions

Step 1:
In a pot, add cut fish and water. I accidentally added garlic earlier than I should... lol~ :X So ignore the chopped garlic in the soup. I believe the fish is yellow tail, but I could be wrong. This soup works with most type of fishes so you don't really need to worry what type of fish you're using. Make sure you turn on your stove to high.
Add radishes and onions. Once it starts boiling, you will see the fat on the top of the soup. You need to scoop it out with a spoon.
Then add chopped garlic, red pepper paste, and soybean paste. The heat from the soup is dissolve the paste.
Add garland chrysanthemum (suk-gat from what I know). You need to cut the leaves from the stem and get rid of the stem. I only use the leaves part.
Then add squash. During this time, I taste the soup to see if it taste to my bud. If it isn't spicy enough, add more red pepper paste. If you want more taste, add both pastes. Let the heat dissolve the pastes. Then taste again and hopefully, it's to your taste... hehe~ Before you eat the soup, add chopped green onions.
Now you can eat with rice and kim-chi! :)

This past Friday when I chilled with my friend, we checked out Icing. There were three headbands I liked, but I ended up bringing one home... hehe~
I like how unique the headband is. I haven't seen two bands together with a bow. I like it a lot!... hehe~ :)

I haven't done my nails for two weeks. I don't know if it's just me but do you remember the review for Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen review (click here to see post)? I only did nail art on two fingers with the pen. When I erased my nail polish a week after, I noticed the two fingers I used the Sally Hansen was weak, whereas, the others weren't. I thought that was strange! :X During that time, I didn't color my nails. I wanted it to get stronger. I wonder if it's just me or has it happened to you guys?

Anyways, this is my nail of the week (NOTW #9). It's nothing unique or exciting. I just wanted a solid color on my nails... hehe~ I used China Glaze in For Audrey (click here to see the swatches of China Glaze).
It's also perfect for this spring season... hehe~

I'm going to end with the amigurumi I just finished. Since my unborn nephew is coming soon (in May), I wanted to make something for him. I always got something for my nieces, now for the future nephew, when they were born... hehe~ I wanted it baby safe and I saw the most perfect pattern online (click here to see the pattern). It's adorable, but at the same time, it looks very safe for a baby.
Of course, I didn't use the yarn with the hair sticking out (whatever you call that). Since babies put everything in their mouth, it isn't safe. I used baby yarn for this sheep. The only problem is I don't think it's that cute the one I made of course... hehe~ I like the one in the pattern so much better *sigh*. I don't know if I should give it to him or make something else *sigh*. :X

The Body Shop Body Butter and Scrub Review

Last year, my friend gave me body butters from The Body Shop for my birthday and Christmas. She told once you use the body butter, you won't go back to anything else. For that reason, I tried to use my other body lotion before I move on... lol~ Now for the review...
Product Review: The Body Shop Body Butter

Where can you purchase this: The Body Shop or online (http://www.thebodyshop-usa.com)
Price:
$10 for the mini-size and $20 for the regular size

My thoughts: I love it!!!... lol~ It feels like butter on your skin. As you apply the lotion, it just melts into your skin. It's very nourishing during the winter season, as well as, for someone with normally dry skin. I tried Victoria's Secret, as well as, Bath & Body Works at the store and they don't compare to The Body Shop. In my opinion, they don't melt into your skin as The Body Shop. They also come in different fruity flavors that smells delicious!

Pros:
* It melts in your skin.
* Very nourishing.
* Good for all skin type even sensitive skin.
* Smells good.
* Comes in different flavors.
* Made from natural ingredients.

Cons:
* It's not cheap, but at the same time, it's not extremely expensive.

Would I buy this again? Yes! :)

Rating: 4.5/5 Tobey's Paws

These are the body butters I have or I should say the ones I received except the bottom one. I bought the bottom one during a sale.
Here's how the inside looks like. My apologies I should had taken a picture before I used the product... hehe~ :X

Now I want to review the body scrub from The Body Shop. In one of my posts, I posted my haul from The Body Shop and it included one scrub (click here to see the post). Couple of the readers asked me about the scrub, but I couldn't respond without thoroughly using it. Now that I have used it for more than a month, I will review it.

My thoughts: I wish I could have said I loved it as much as the body butter, but I didn't unfortunately. It's a good quality scrub and did it's purpose, but there were certain things I didn't like. The one I bought had black seeds that didn't dissolve. After I use the scrub, I would have all these black seeds on my body... lol~ It comes off your body with no problem but I noticed these black seeds were on the floor and wall of the shower. Maybe I'm just a messy person when it comes to body scrub, but seeing it all over made me feel dirty... lol~ Okay, okay I'm just strange... lol~ :X

Pros:
* It softens your skin.
* Good exfoliating product.
* Removes dead skin.
* The smell isn't strong.
* Smells good.
* Made from natural ingredients.

Cons:
* It's not cheap, but at the same time, it's not extremely expensive.
* Black seeds everywhere.

Would I buy this again? I don't think so unless the other body scrubs have no black seeds... hehe~

I'm going to end this post with my recent crochet project. I made Kerochan from Card Captor Sakura. Here's a picture of Kerochan I found. Isn't he adorable?... hehe~
Now for the Kerochan I made. I found a crochet pattern from craftster forum (click here). I modified it to fit to my taste so it's not 100% that pattern.

Frontal view:

Back view:
For the wings, there was no pattern. I made it as I went... hehe~

Does he look like Kerochan? How did I do?

Chicken with Potatoes, Carrots, and Onions (dak do-ri-tang) and Day at Sephora

I promised a reader, Emily, I would post this recipe. I didn't forget... hehe~ Sorry it took so long to post this! At least you have it now... hehe~ :)

If you need some guidance with the ingredients, you can check my Korean Cooking 101. ;)

Ingredients:
chicken
potato
carrots
onions
soy sauce
water
chopped garlic
pinch of black pepper
1 spoonful of sugar
2-3 spoonful of red pepper powder

Step 1:
I usually take off the skin of the chicken, but it is up to the person making it. You don't have to if you don't want to. Put the chicken in the pot with cut potatoes, carrots, and onions. It is up to the cook if s/he wants a lot of vegetables or not.

Step2:
In a bowl, I make the soy sauce mixture. I dilute the soy sauce with water. I cannot tell you the exact amount but my guess would be 1: 2 ratio (1 c. soy sauce: 2 c. water). I do this part by look... lol~ Then I add chopped garlic, pinch of black pepper, and sugar. The sugar adds a ting of sweetness in the chicken. I would say about a spoonful of sugar or so depending on your taste.
Once you got your soy sauce mixture, add 2-3 spoonful of red pepper powder.

Step 3:
Now put the sauce mixture in the pot with the chicken. Turn on the stove to high. Once it starts boiling, you can turn it to low. The cooking process should take 30-45 minutes. Make sure you check on the chicken 2 or 3 times by mixing it with a spoon. It will also spread the sauce to the vegetables on top.
Once you're done, you can eat with rice and kim-chi! :)

Yesterday, I spent a day with my makeup buddy. One of the things we wanted to do was go check out the makeover at Sephora. She did the skin and I did the color. I had one of the nicest makeup artist ever! She was friendly, bubbly, and extremely helpful. She told me step by step what she was doing, as well as, gave me techniques I never thought of. I thought I'll spread some of the techniques I learned... hehe~

* Apply UDPP on your lips. It will fill the lines on the lips, conceal, and it will help the lipstick stay on longer.
* If you want glitter affect on your eyelashes, apply mascara and then glitter eyeliner on top of the mascara. With the glitter eyeliner, put spots on different areas of the eyelashes. It will make your eyelashes sparkle.

These are the ones I have never heard of and thought it might help some readers reading my blogs... hehe~ :)

After the makeover, she gave us two sample bags. I think we were only suppose to get one but I'm not too sure. See how nice she is! :) I'll show you what were in the sample bags... hehe~
Boscia cleansing gel and moisturizer.
Juice Beauty cleansing gel, moisturizer, and blemish serum.
OleHenriksen eye cream and serums.
LaVanila body butter and perfume.
Caudalie shower gels.
Skyn cream.
Tarte face primer.
Jurlique eye makeup remover.
Korres cream.
Nuts cream perfume.
The one that I was excited about was the Sephora mirror... woo hoo~ :)

Since we were at the mall, we checked out other stores. I bought couple of things. :X
MAC Cremesheen lipgloss in Petite Indulgence. I'm starting to wander off from light pink lipstick/gloss to middle-Barbie pink lipstick/glosses... woo hoo~
Another headband accessory from Forever 21. :X

Diana from Paper Doll Revenge asked me to show a picture of MAC "Love Rock" blush on my cheeks (click here to see my post on the blush).
Here's how it looks on me... hehe~

Awards and Small Haul

All the awards I received were from one person, Diana from Paper Doll Revenge. I'm so loved by her... woo hoo~ :) I love you back girl!... hehe~ ;)

The first award is...
The rules:
1. When you receive this award, show that you're happy to the giver.
2. Nominate at least 5 blogs, that you think rocks.
3. Let them know about the award in their post.
4. Now blog like you're never blogged before.

The second award is...
List 7 things that you love, and then pass the award on to 7 bloggers that you love! Be sure to tag them and let them know that they have won.You can copy the picture of the award and paste it on your sidebar letting the whole world know...you are Kreativ!

7 Things I Love...
1. my father (I am so blessed to have him in my life.)
2. Tobey (the best dongseng, younger brother, ever!)
3. my nieces and future nephew
4. making things (crochet, knitting, cross-stitching, sewing, etc.)
5. makeup and fruity-flavored perfume/body lotion
6. earrings
7. hair accessories

The last award is...
“This award is bestowed upon a fellow blogger whose blog’s content or design is, in the giver’s opinion, brilliant."

“When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to the said person so everyone knows she/he is real. Choose a minimum of seven (7) blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Or improvise by including bloggers who have no idea who you are because you don’t have seven friends. Show the seven random victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with Honest Weblog. Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon. List at least ten (10) honest things about yourself. Then pass it on!”

10 honest things about me...

1. I've always loved dogs since I was young. When I was tiny and my parents couldn't find me, they just looked for a dog and I was there. :X
2. I'm clumsy. I bumped into a stop sign, got my finger stuck in a stranger's sweater, taken one tennis shoe of mine and another of my roommate, etc... :X
3. I twist my words and it comes out bad.
Stranger: What year are you?
Me: 4th grade
4. I hate cleaning.
5. I admit I'm hooked on buying makeups, earrings, and hair accessories even though I don't need any. :X
6. I like cute things like pochacco, mashimaro, pooh bear, etc...
7. I'm one of the most boring person in the world and I even know that... lol~ :X
8. I love animes!
9. I like receiving comments and e-mails! :)
10. I love when the other person tries to get to know me by making an effort! :)

The 7 nominees for the awards are *drum roll*...
Spankedelic (I have to nominate my kim-chi buddy)
Rasilla
Audrie
Yinnie
Jnie
Miss Sandy
Miracle

I tried and the key word is "tried" to pick the people I believe who hasn't received the awards yet.

I bought couple of things this week. It's nothing huge... hehe~
I bought two Revlon Matte lipsticks in 001 Nude Attitude and 002 Pink Pout. I'm sure most of you guys know there's a BOGO free sale at CVS, Walgreens, and Rite-Aid this week. I bought mine at CVS. When you use a CVS card, they have a coupon attached to the recipt. One of the coupon had a $2 off on Revlon products. So I got both lipsticks for $5.99... woo hoo~
Here's a swatch of the lipsticks on my hand. I also swatched it on my lips.

Natural lip:

001 Nude Attitude:
I didn't like this color on me much but I think it'll look good with a nice orangy-ie/peachy lipgloss on top... hehe~

002 Pink Pout:
This is such a pretty color on me! :)

I also checked out Target this week. They're having a 10% off on all Sonia Kashuk products! Go run to your Target right now... hehe~ :P This is the perfect timing, because I just finished my old concealer. I heard great things about this and I can't wait to use it... hehe~ I got this for $7.99. The regular price is $9.99, but I got 20% off (10% from the Target sale and 10% from employee from Target). No, I don't work at Target but my sister-in-law is a pharmacist at Target. She gave me a membership card since she had an extra one... woo hoo~
It has 3 cream concealers and one powder (bottom right). They also include two tiny brushes for the cream and powder.
