Haul This Week and NOTW #3

Since the last post, I haven't bought much of anything. I did go to K-town with my buddy last Friday. It was really nice chilling with her, as well as, showing her around the town! :) Here's what I bought at a Korean beauty store in Galleria Plaza.
I bought falsies (I've always been wanting to try this brand) and an eyeshadow. They gave me 4 samples (2 of each) and I gave 1 of each to my friend to try. Please ignore the earrings (pink hearts) which I bought at a store by my house before we went to K-town... hehe~ :P I bought the pink ones and my buddy bought black ones. Isn't it cute we got a matching earrings!?!?... hehe~ :X

The eyeshadow is so cute! :) I couldn't resist and plus I think it's great as a highlighter.
Do you see the little flower right in the center? How cute is that! :)

Here's my nail of the week (NOTW). It's nothing out of the ordinary, in other words, it's kind of boring but I like it... hehe~ ;)

What I used:
(L-R: OPI Base Coat, China Glaze in Ruby Pumps, L.A. Colors Art Deco in Silver Glitter, and Seche Vite Top Coat)

* OPI Base Coat
* China Glaze in Ruby Pumps
* L.A. Colors Art Deco in Silver Glitter
* Seche Vite Top Coat (Thank you makeup buddy!)

I'm going to end it with a cute picture of my sweets, Tobey!!! :)

GEO Cleansing Tissue

Last year, my sister-in-law gave me a two boxes of GEO Cleansing Tissue. I think this is the right time to do a product review since I am almost done with my second box... hehe~ ;)
It comes in a box with small packages of wipes.
Each package comes with 10 individual wipes.

Product Review: GEO Cleansing Tissue

Where can you purchase this: any Korean beauty stores
Price:
no clue since these two boxes were given as gifts

Made in Korea

Description on the back: A tissue-type cleanser formulated with high moisture containing cleansing water along with other beauty ingredients and Vitamin C derivatives for purified skin tone. Designed for convenient use by all skin types and women of all ages.

How to use: Pull out a sheet at a time and gently wipe off makeup or any other impurities along the skin texture. Close the lid completely to avoid drying after each use.

For use:
* For makeup or removal
* After exercise
* When traveling, moving or climbing
* Before and after eating
* When driving
* When washing patients in hospital

My thoughts: I've tried many different wipes (Ponds to MAC) in the past, but I keep coming to this one. It's really refreshing, removes the makeup, doesn't feel harsh, and best of all it smells good. What more can I ask of this! :)
Here's a picture of four different eyeliners on my hand. From left to right, I have a regular eye pencil (Max Factor), two liquid eyeliners (The Body Shop... click here to see my posts), and cream eyeliner (L'oreal).
I took this picture after one wipe. Can you imagine what damage it can do using these wipes!?!? :)
Here's a picture of the wipe after one swoop across the eyeliners.

Pros:
* It's really refreshing and cooling to the skin.
* It isn't harsh on the skin.
* Removes makeup well.
* Doesn't smell alcohol-like compare to some wipes.
* It smells fruity.
* I think it's comparable to MAC wipes, but this one smells better!
* You can take these for travels.
* You can carry it in your purse.

Cons:
* Hard to find.

Would I buy this again? Yes! :)

The Body Shop Duo Eyeshadow in #02, and Eye Lustre Liner in Glistening Blue and Mercury Shine

Disclaimer: The products mentioned in this post are bought with my money. I am not affiliated with the company nor getting paid to advertise the products. This post is written with my honest opinion.

When I posted my haul from The Body Shop (click here to see), Trinh wanted to see swatches of the cosmetics I bought. Let me rephrase that she bothered me for several days. I'm finally posting up the swatches and a look I did with the eyeshadow duo.

More OPI Nail Polishes and Cosmetics Settlement

I went to Ulta this week, and saw some stuff that interest me in their clearance section. I just couldn't refuse... hehe~ :P
(L-R: Kyoto Pearl, Teal the Cows Come Home, summer tote bag, Don't Toy With Me!, and Ulta hand cream)

They had an OPI Get Carried Away kit (I believe it's a summer collection) for $4.99. How can you not pass this opportunity!!! :X One nail polish of OPI goes up to $8.50. With this kit, you get two OPI nail polishes and a bag... woo hoo~ It was a steal that I couldn't refuse!!! :)

Since I knew I was going to check out Ulta, I printed out a coupon for $3.50 off if I buy $10 worth of stuff. For that reason I bought another OPI nail polish, Don't Toy With Me!, for $4.99. I thought these would be good enough for the coupon, but nope... eek~

The salesperson suggested I buy the Ulta Christmas hand cream since they're 40 cents so I can use the coupon. So that's what I ended up buying... hehe~

Nail Tutorial: Black Gradient Sparkles (NOTW #1)

This is the nail I had end of last week. It looks very wintery-like or at least I think so... hehe~

What I used:
(T-B, L-R: Etude House in GR603, OPI in Baby It's "Coal" Outside!, CG in Disco Dazzle, and a makeup sponge)

Step 1:
Start with a base coat and then two coats of the Etude House in GR603 (thank you Digital Angel). It's suppose to be a pastel green, but to me it looks more like a metallic white which is what I wanted... hehe~ It worked out well! :)

Step 2:
With the OPI in Baby It's "Coal" Outside!, I colored the tip. You don't have to worry about it being perfect.

Step 3:
Grab a piece of white paper and put some OPI nail polish in Baby It's "Coal" Outside! With the makeup sponge, I cut a small piece and dab it into the nail polish on the paper.
Then you can make a gradient effect on your nails. The lightest on the middle with the darkest on the bottom.

Step 4:
Grab the CG in Disco Dazzle and paint over the black gradient. The purpose of this is trying to have different size sparkles on the black gradient. End with a top coat.
Here's a close up shot of the nail. I hope you like it!!! :)

Pink/Purple Challenge

Trinh, my kim-chi eating buddy, has been very persistent I do my pink/purple challenge. Actually, let me rephrase that and she reminds me everyday since she gave me this challenge... lol~ :P She challenged me to do a pink/purple, and I challenged her to do silver/purple and orange/black challenge (she owed me one from a long time ago)... hehe~ :P I wanted to do something different which I have never done, and I think the purple came out nice. The pink, on the other hand, doesn't really stand out... lol~ :X Oh well, this is the best I could do at the last moment. Here's my look! :X

UDPP
MAC Paint Pot in Perky
MAC Pigment in Helium on the lid and bottom foiled
MAC Pigment in Violet on the lid foiled
CG Sugar Rush as highlight
L'oreal HIP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Black
Smashbox Cream Eye Liner Duo in Smashing Beacon on the inner corner and bottom 1/3
Hard Candy Mascara

So that's how my eye (yeah I only did one eye) looks open and slightly close.

What do you think?

My kim-chi eating buddy and I have been in talks about my arm warmers. I'm thinking and the key word is "thinking" of making another blog and trying to sell these. Here's a picture of my model, Tobey, wearing it to refresh your memories.
Isn't Tobey's hand so cute!?!?... hehe~ :) Anyways, it takes me two days to make these if I'm concentrated (one day for each arm). Yes, I'm that slow... hehe~ :P Another reason why I'm thinking of doing this is because it will help me out financially. The question is...

How much are you willing to pay for these arm warmers and would you buy these from me?

China Glaze, OPI, Essie Haul, Goodies, and Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual

Yesterday was a good day! Not only because I got goodies to show, but I got to spend time with my makeup buddy!!! :) I went over to her place and we spent time chatting, as well as, going nail polish shopping. She showed me two beauty stores that sell cheap China Glaze, OPI, Essie, Orly, etc. Now for the haul, and PLEASE don't be shocked because I am... lol~ :X

China Glaze:
(L-R: Martini Lunch,Thataway, Sex on the Beach, Thistle, Lady Sings the "Hues," Lubu Heels, Ruby Pumps, and Emotion)

I bought the first six at one store for $2 each and they had a deal buy 5 get 1 free deal... woo hoo~ So basically, it's like $1.67 each. :) The seventh one I bought it at another store for $2.50. I think it's still good since at Sally Beauty it's $3.25 each.

The last two I bought it at Sally Beauty this past week for $3.25 each with membership of course.

OPI and Essie:
(L-R: OPI Ink,Catherin the Grape, Before You Leap, Curry Up Don't Be Late, Yoga-ta Get this Blue!, Natural Nail Base Coat, Girls Just Want to Play, Baby It's "Coal" Outside!, and Essie Blanc)

I didn't take the picture correctly... lol~ :X The first, third, fifth, and the sixth I got it for $3.75 each. The second and fourth for $4 each. They were both from different beauty store. I also got the Essie for $2.75.

I bought the last two OPI at Ulta during their clearance sale. They're from the Toyland Collection. I also used the 30% off coupon and each came out to $3 something.

My makeup buddy also gave me stuff... woo hoo~ It's not shown here but I also got samples of MAC and La Femme pigments.

Thank you makeup buddy!!! I had a blast with you! :)

When I came back home, I saw a package on my desk. You don't know how excited I was!!! :) I've been waiting for this book since I won it from Toma's contest.
The first thing I did is open it and skim through the pages. Words cannot express how great the book is! It has detailed information with pictures. I took a picture of the inside so you can have a speak peak.
I can't wait to really sit down and read page by page! This was an added bonus to a wonderful day.

Thank you Toma!!! I really love it! :)

MAC Brunette, Blonde, and Redhead Collection

I went to MAC counter at Macy near my house to check out the new collection Brunette, Blonde, and Redhead. I wanted to decide what I wanted to get online with the 25% off deal but I just found out they're not going to release on the web until tomorrow. What a bummer! :( Anyways, now for the collection.

N.Y.C. Chroma Face Glow and Prestige Skin Loving Minerals Bronzing Powder

Not only had I bought stuff from the mall (click here to see my mall haul), I also bought some stuff at the drugstore. :X
I bought the N.Y.C. Chroma Face Glow in Moonstone at Rite-Aid for $2.49 (originally for $4.99). It was in the clearance section for 50% off... woo hoo~ I've been wanting this blush for quite a few months but I kept refusing. This time I couldn't since it was on sale! :)

The one on the right, Prestige Skin Loving Minerals Bronzing Powder in Pure Shimmer, has an interesting story to it... hehe~ Yesterday, my makeup buddy e-mailed me telling me that is comparable to MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle. After reading that e-mail, I had to buy this since I knew it was on sale at Walgreens. Without even thinking, I head over there to buy one... lol~ They had a last chance sale on these for $7.19 (originally $11.99). After I bought one, I e-mailed my makeup buddy and she bought one as well. :)

Here's a picture of it opened so you can see better of the inside.
Of course I had to swatch it or else I will get a comment from Spank asking for swatches (the other ones will come soon). :P She only teases me because she loves me... lol~ :P
Hopefully, you can see it! :X

Edit: I end up returning the Prestige to buy the MAC MSF in Soft and Gentle during their 25% off friends & family deal.

The Tales of Beedle the Bard

Have you noticed I'm in a row of posting!?!?... lol~ Three days straight baby! ;) Anyways, I bought a book before Christmas at Costco. I finally had a chance to read it.
Title: The Tales of Beedle the Bard
Author: J.K. Rowling

Price: $7.06 at Costco ($12.99 price on the back)

Description on the back: THE TALES OF BEEDLE THE BARD, a Wizarding classic, first came to Muggle readers' attention in the book known as HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS. Now, thanks to Hermione Granger's new translation from the ancient runes, we present this stunning edition with an introduction, notes, and illustrations by J.K. Rowling, and extensive commentary by Albus Dumbledore. Never before have Muggles been privy to these richly imaginative tales: "The Wizard and the Hopping Pot," "The Fountain of Fair Fortune," "The Warlock's Hairy Heart," "Babbitty Rabbitty and Her Cackling Stump," and of course, "The Tale of the Three Brothers." But not only are they the equal of fairy tales we now know and love, reading them gives new insight into the world of Harry Potter.

My thoughts: I really did enjoy reading the five different stories. They're like fairy tales like Cinderella to us humans, muggles, but fitting to the wizarding world! :) My favorite has to be "The Fountain of Fair Fortune." If you're expecting thick Harry Potter books, then you're mistaken. It's an easy read that you can read in one sitting. It only has 107 pages!!!

I also took a picture of the inside of the book so you guys can see it.
On the right is how Albus Dumbledore's comments look after each story.

Pros:
* Interesting stories.
* Albus Dumbledore comments after each stories.
* You can relate more to the Harry Potter series.
* Great addition to Harry Potter freaks.

Cons:
* The book is way too short.
* Some of the stories you can conclude what will happen.

Stila Eyeshadow Trio in Bronze Glow

Disclaimer: The product mentioned in this post is bought with my money. I am not affiliated with the company nor getting paid to advertise the product. This post is written with my honest opinion.

I hope everyone had a nice Christmas and New Year!!! I spent my time with my family and it was great! It's kind of funny because I get excited to see my nieces. After a day of seeing them, I get tired of them. Once they're gone, I miss them! Anyways, I'm finally updating on my blog. I apologize for not updating the end of 2008, but I have been busy knitting arm warmers for people's presents (still not done) and spending time with love ones.

The one eyeshadow I've been using a lot recently is the Stila Eyeshadow Trio in Bronze Glow (click here to see the post on the Stila haul). I'm so in love with the neutral colors, as well as, the shimmer.
